On average I'm an hour over my time 4 days a week, if I'm 3 hours over and deliver all my election material in one day is it not reasonable that I claim an hour of that as ot

Course not. You just gotta not take the piss. If the workload you have takes you over, claim it , if the election material takes you another 30 mins over don't claim that as you will be getting paid for leaflet. At 5p per drop, you only have to do 220 to give you an hrs worth of overtime pay and it ain't gonna take you an hr more is it?

Spread the election material prep over however many days you have to deliver them, use a control sheet like we have for D2Ds, take them where you are going with other mail... Unless you think you have time to "cold call" with some election material within your contract hours, or you can legitimately claim overtime for the workload of all other mail items, or you are prepared to suck up claiming overtime for the money per election material item per household.

How one office can get ~6p per election item, while other offices like mine get ~3p per item, due to an "agreement" from over 10 years ago is absolutely scandalous. Especially if you find yourself in a situation where no overtime will be paid for going over at the normal rate of ~£11 per hour, which means you need to deliver over 5 election items per minute to offset the normal overtime rate.

Trouble is if the union tried to negotiate a fixed rate across the country, it could ed up with RM insisting on no extra payment
