Hello guys, I have been stalking forum for month or so and the things I read was extremely helpful. I'm due to start soon at MC on night shift as Mail Sorter part time employee 20hr contract Mon- Fri, 5hr/day. Everything seems to be great but I was wondering if it is even possible to become full time employee and possibly in future changing shifts from nights to days ? If so, how long would I have to be in company to complete such a rotation ? Also what should I expect from job ? I understand that it's fast paced but is there heavy lifting involve or any tasks that you really dislike about it ?

Its possible to become full time, but it is rare. However, Mail Centres are the best possible place in Royal Mail to get regular overtime.
Transferring shifts, that would depend on how popular each shift is and to a large extent how senior you are. The longer you work there the better chance you have of changing shifts.
Heaving Lifting - yes more than likely unless you are sorting letters manually.

Thank you TrueBlueTerrier, good to hear that there are chances of full time even if slim... I can handle night shift for now, regular overtime is what I am looking for and heavy lifting well lets just say I might skip gym
