I think the deal is crap and I want to vote NO, however even if a no vote is carried I don't think the union is managed well enough to improve the deal.
There will be more strikes with more strike breakers than last time and more money lost for nothing.

I will not vote yes but I don't believe voting no will achieve anything in our favour.

That is not true at all. Voting NO because I am 60% sure it is the right thing to do is not a clever move because I also believe that YES is 60% the better option.
I will totally back the result of the vote but I'll leave the decision to those that have more to lose or gain than I do.

My vote isn't wasted, it is undecided.

Spedley... Today is REMEMBERANCE SUNDAY.. And the 11TH DAY OF THE 11TH MONTH.. And at 1100. today We vowed to Remember the fallen dead that went and died in War and conflicts.. Now this aint a PRO war rant or is it against... Its just to show that people who stand up for what they know and believe is RIGHT, and they have the courage to act on there convictions.. To the lenghts of losing there own futures and lives... I cant see how ANYONE involved in this Vote cannot vote one way or the other.?????????????

I would hope your 60% that leans to the NO VOTE becomes 100% NO.. But this is your right to deliberate...

But what i still cant understand is how anyone can be HALF N HALF??????? Or even a percentage>?>>? there is YES OR NO... NO errrms or maybes or just if's..... PLEASE GET REAL.. Now i dont want to slag you but please grow some balls mate.. Stand up and be counted... Its not politics its our livelyhoods and out futures Not to mention our childrens futures... IM NOT JOKING...

If we except that NO CHANGE IS BEST, WHEN WE IN OUR HEARTS N HEADS KNOW THAT IT IS IMPERATIVE CHANGES NEED TO HAPPEN.. THEN WE THE VOTERS THE MEMBERS HAVE FAILED OUR DUTY......

THEN ANYONE WHO DONT VOTE MIGHT AS WELL LEAVE THE UNION AND WORK FOR SLAVE DRIVERS....

I still think voting YES is the better option but I'd rather vote NO.

YES - we get screwed and do what RM want
NO - we lose a lot of pay and then we get screwed and do what RM want. The union has made it's deal, it can't make another because it's cards are already on the table.

This isn't a war, it's just a job.

so just turn your back on it all ? what a defeatist attitude if those that fought two world wars lived through the depression
and it was there hope and aspirations to give the future generations a better life and your willing to squander that just to be subserviant to the masters ? vote yes and suffer the concequences...... vote no knowing you did the right thing and can stand proud that you stuck to your beliefs

Lay down now and we all lose forever,, Keep fighting and just a chance we win...

Spedley - What is the Union?

Post by mailjock »

The Union is the sum total of the strength and resolve of its members - it is not the full-time cowards toadying up to the Labour Party and the PEC sell-out merchants!

No I don't think I should stop using my car. They plan on starting later shifts on August the 13th and I will voice my opinions before that date when plans are officially expressed to the staff.

I see no problem with using my own car on delivery and I doubt my insurance company will give me a refund for the extra business insurance if I don't use it.
The time and effort I save is worth it to me and I'd be happy to swap 30 minutes pay each day for a 30 minutes 'driving allowance'.
Doing the job the hard way is foolish. It may guarantee your work longer but it won't guarantee you more work.

I don't think I should stop using my car, because it suits me and not becasue it suits RM. I've been working roughly to rule for about 1 month now and I take my break, don't come in early (although I never have), I don't take over-weight pouches and the time I save from driving I spend in the canteen. It is a choice that doesn't suit me - I used to finsih at 2pm having being paid for 3 hours OT but now I finish at 1.30pm £70 per week worse off (i.e. £200 in pocekt and not £270).

If you have some personal opinions about a person you have never met - and with over 3000 posts @20 per day I doubt you can keep your mouth shut - then don't put them on a public and non-bias forum, PM me directly. Please.

But, that is another topic.

I have said it several times and I still think it is true (i.e. you haven't convinced me otherwise) that the only logical vote is YES. I think voting NO will achieve nothing so I am not voting.

I don't have to meet you to have a personal opinion of you Spedley. You're typical of what has ruined this job. I've met people like you since the day I started in Royal Mail, and you're just arseholes with no thought for anything or anyone but yourself. A real bosses arsewipe. But you knew that anyway seeing as I told you that last July.
