Honest opinions please

I’m contemplating to go for a position of postman/postwoman with driving. I originally went for a job interview for a 30 hour a week position, but was beaten by score; I’m on the waiting list. I was wondering whether it’s worth while going for another position, same role, but 25 hours. Will there be persistent opportunities for me to work extra hours each week as 25 wouldn’t really be enough income for me. Thanks in advance :)

Overtime is never guaranteed.
Sure you might manage to get quite a bit of it

But honestly if you cannot financial be stable on 25 hours, don't do it

+Plus any holidays , sickness etc is paid at the 25 hour rate

I worked mine out that doing 30 hours was sufficient, any less and it would have been touch and go, so I stayed with what I knew would be comfy, wait it out I would for a higher hour role

I started with 25 hours ccontract, always had plenty of overtime opportunities, if not in my office, in nearby offices for sure, most of the weeks I work more than 40 hours, even now when its lighter than usual.
This is from my experience, you do what you think is best for you.

Your question is will there be persistent opportunities, realistically who could answer? The only guarantee is the 25 hours of the contract. Are you going to take it because someone said they do 50 hours of docket? what will you do if you get none?
Like it or loathe it, it's only opinion. I think it would be a mistake to go for it because someone says they do 20 hours or whatever, base it on fact and that is a 25 hour contract.
