Had an interview a few weeks back and then on that day I applied for the same job in my home town, I received a call last week saying I was unsuccessful with the original interview as others scored higher but as I had applied for the position in my home town, she would like to offer me that job. I accepted the offer and have since had an induction date and start date and I will get my contract upon successful completion of the pre employment checks. These pre employment checks worry me, I worked for Royal Mail over ten years a go, I told them about it at the interview and I explained the reasons why I left. In November last year I applied to work at a new parcel sorting centre opening up in my home town, I applied via the rm website and attended an interview and got the job. Do angard do the same checks as royal mail would for a postman position? I haven't been arrested since working at the parcel sorting centre last year either so dbs should be fine.
Thank you for looking :)

So if I've passed angard checks there shouldn't be any problems with rm checks?

It was in Lancashire, mainly parcels but some flats did come through it covered the whole of the North and Scotland. It's closed now was only a temporary site but it was big.SpacePhoenix wrote:IsrightIan wrote:In November last year I applied to work at a new parcel sorting centre opening up in my home townMakes me wonder if RM might be looking to have some MCs process flats and letters (but maybe covering a much wider area) and other MCs (or possibly many new builds) processing parcels, Tracked and maybe SDs (but again maybe covering a much wider area)
Any advice on the checks?

Well, I can't say yes with 100% certainty either way, but I'd be surprised if there was.

Thank you for replying, Just been browsing the angard forum and realised I was a Christmas casual and applied direct through royal mails job site, the position is on my candidate profile and is listed as hired alongside this recent one which shows a status of processing. Am I correct in assuming the exact same checks would have already been done before I was employed over the Christmas period.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:IsrightIan wrote:So if I've passed angard checks there shouldn't be any problems with rm checks?

Yes - but they will probably still do the checks as they only last for 3 months or so.
