Timescales from start to finish

Post by dan3mitch »

good evening all i am hopefully going to be a postman within the coming weeks but i'm after advice on time scales, my interview was Thursday the 7th of feb then on the 8th of feb i received a congratulations email stating that im moving to the security stage of the process that can take up to 14 days then ill be in discussion with a start date, that evening i filled out all my details required then on the 11th feb i had an email asking for DVLA access to confirm clean licence, after this i have heard nothing, when do you think the 14 day limit is over before i fly an email across to see if everything is ok, there should be no check issues as i hold multiple firearms licences and CRB checks for schools, has anyone advice if i should be concerned the longer it takes or am i just being impatient, i have looked at the recruitment process section but im just drawing on other peoples experience, very excited to be joining. :Very Happy :Very Happy

thanks for any advice you can provide

For me, i heard something on the 14th day
I'd personally wait, but there is no harm in re-sending your DVLA information again

Hi Dan, I've just posted in another thread that my application process has been really quick, taking just a week from original offer to a conditional offer and start date but I have read it can take much longer, 17 weeks is the longest that I recall reading.
I hope that you hear soon. I too am excited to be joining RM.

Yeah it can be a long process but worth it in the end. I got the congrats email on 24/12/18, formal offer around 21/01/19 and started 18/02/19 so pretty much 2 months from the first email. Will completely depend on when there is an induction local to you as well.

Best of luck. I’m just coming to the end of my first week and loving it :Very Happy

fantastic really glad your loving it, i'm normally up transmitter towers or on roofs installing telecoms equipment so its going to be a big change but great doing a job with my feet on the ground for a change but still customer facing for much of it which i do enjoy greatly and the added bonus of the depot is 5 miles from my farm so i get to cycle to work doe most days along our local trail way

For anyone els wondering about timescales from applying to receiving the job, it took me the best part of 3 months! Applied in mid December, had the interview in January and the security checks took 3 weeks, received my offer of employment in February and start tomorrow (induction) early march.
