Workers at John Lennon Airport in Liverpool have voted to go on strike in a row over pay.
Members of the GMB union backed industrial action by nine to one after rejecting a pay offer they said was below the rate of inflation.
GMB official Eddie Parker said: "GMB members have voted decisively to take action to get a pay rise in line with inflation and they are not prepared to accept any strings attached to a deal."
The union will meet management next week in a bid to resolve the row but Mr Parker warned that if the deadlock was not broken he believed industrial action could not be averted.
The GMB has about 100 members at the airport whose jobs include running the site's fire service.

So that's what you're meant to say, maybe someone at CWU HQ should take note! Good luck to them, hopefully their union leaders will have the guts to stick to their demands.

While still a Beatle, Harrison became attracted to Indian music and Hinduism. Both would subsequently play a prominent role in Harrison’s life and music. His use of the sitar introduced the instrument to millions of Western listeners. He adopted Hinduism (as there is no conversion in Hinduism) and his last rites were performed according to Hindu tradition, with his ashes scattered in the holy River Ganges.
