Ive been in my current job for over 3 years and was employed with my previous employer for 2 years prior to this.
I am a bit worried as when I was offered my current my previous employer was happy to let me leave without working a notice period and I had about 5-6 weeks between jobs where I did some studying for my new role and worked on my fitness.
I had already accepted the new job offer and I didn't claim jobseekera allowance or anything during this gap I lived off some money I had saved
Is this likely to create issues for me as long as I explain it? I dont want to lose the opportunity over something so small :(

As long as you declare it online it shouldn't present any problems. So declare the gap between jobs as a studying period.

Trueblueterrier I wasn't studying at a course or college I was just looking over my own stuff etc. You still think this would be okay? I could try to get hold of a personal reference for this period if it were going to cause problems

Declare it as unemployed, they won't need a reference and it closes the gap.VeryHopefulPostie wrote:Trueblueterrier I wasn't studying at a course or college I was just looking over my own stuff etc. You still think this would be okay? Yeah that seems like the best idea, i was thinking they might be looking references to say youve claimed when unemployed but maybe thats not the case?

I would declare it as unemployed and where you put either details of your job or how you supported yourself financially (ie claiming jobseekers/UC etc) I would put something like lived off savings. That way it’s explained and you’ve no gaps.
