At least if I moved to another country I`d make the effort to learn the language,respect their religion and culture, fit in with the community rather than expect them to change to accomodate me.
I certainly wouldn`t be looking for handouts or expecting housing, translations in 50 different languages including my own, etc.
Before you jump down my throat this is not the language of some far right fascist prick or whatever you want to call it, it`s called common sense.
To be honest I`m fed up of hearing the argument about us all being an 'accident of birth' as regards which country we were born.
There`s nothing wrong with being patriotic, some of you seem to think it`s some sort of crime to be ashamed of.
So, you don`t cheer on England do you (or whichever of the home countries you support) after all that would be patriotic wouldn`t it, can`t have that can we now.

Sorry don't buy that, I was born in scotland because my parents were working there at the time, but I supported england against france in the rugby - it's a sport thing not a nationalist or patriotic thing, that's who my dad always supported. I've met Yanks who do the same thing, and English people who support Italy.

As for things like wars, frankly I couldn't give a toss who owns us, they're all exactly the same they just want to live a life of Reilly off my labour. If they try to do so via fascism that's something else but whether they're called Smith or Abramovich makes no difference to the colour of the money they're taking away from me. I do care that I keep being made to pay money or see people I know sent off to die for the sake of the rich prats we have now though.

I'm very proud of where I come from, my parents are great people and my village was a really nice place, as is the town I live in now. But what on earth does 'Britain' actually mean? Geography? Culture? Technology?

I was brought up in the countryside and have only a limited amount in common with say, a life-long londoner - much less than I might with someone brought up in a small village or county town in France for example. As I say, most of our early technology came from somewhere else. Most of our culture has been made by people who are at best 'mostly' anglo-saxon (ie. German and Scandinavian). Most of our developmental ideas are stolen from overseas.

I certainly have f**k all in common with Her Majesty, Gordon Brown, Billy Hayes or any other rich f****r who bangs on about taking pride in 'our' country. It's not 'our' country it's THEIR country - at least whenever it suits them and they're not flying off to other places to have their holidays. They own it, we just live in it.

Where in all this mixed mongrel society is 'Britishness' outside some John Bull fantasy land? I'm not going to take pride in some completely incomprehensible and undefined gibberish about 'patriotism' just for the sake of it, I'll take pride in what has helped make me what I am - the people around me and the world as a whole, without fear or favour as a fully paid-up member of humanity. Looking at life with that wider basis, it's quite clear who needs sorting out - and it's not people who earn the same wage I do (or less).

majority of these brave men fought and died because they had no choice. they were forced to preserve the rich upper classes and their wealthy lifestyle. they were brave because they got on with it. today you would know what crap you are fed to make you patriotic, and would,nt join up unless it was forced on you, as it was then. ps well said rob ray.

i don,t cheer them on because just by winning it won,t change me or my lifestyle or anyone else around me for that matter. i,m not insecure enough to hide behind the success of someone else,s acheivment. why would you cheer on someone, who, whether they win or not, will be paid fortunes for doing it? and besides, if south africa play better than england, they deserve my applause as winners, and england my applause as gallant losers. i don,t see anything to be patriotic about !!

We are all human beings, we have a heart ,legs, eyes, nose lungs etc etc.

What gives us the right to dictate who can live were on this planet ?

Migrant workers play a very important role in this country especially in the agriculture sector. They pay taxes and therefore have right to draw upon public services,

The question is why are UK employers left with no other choice than migrant labour when people are on the dole/out of work? Generations of people worked the land yet in the 21st century employers in this sector are struggling to attract UK workers even when they pay ABOVE the minium wage.

Moan about the level of the minium wage all you like, but if wasnt for 10 years of new labour there wouldnt be one! How many employers would LOWER their wage rates if they could?

BNP stood a canidate this years local elections in my ward and nabbed a load of votes of the conservatives. Cons vote was lower and their was a ever so slightly higher turn out on last year but still running on less than a third of voters actually voting at all. Labour vote was virtually unaffected and having labour party members on my delivery move out of the voting area i can straight away offer a genuine reason for labour vote being down slightly.

In response the organiser for Cambridge UAF has helped set up a UAF group in my town. This group is supported by the green party the lib dems and labour. The local conservatives are not intrested. The lib dem mayor of my town had a message of support from himself read out at the launch meeting by another senior lib dem figure. Mayor was in town council meeting (double booked) His message went along the lines of it is the duty of all democrats liberal or otherwise......

We fought to stop Nazis and fascists in WW2 and now in the 21st century we use peacefull methods to try and stop Nazis and fascists. As we have freedom of speech its vital that groups such as UAF and LMHR use a variety of peacefull methods to stop them!
