THE ROYALFAIL
For this is how it will be remembered as company in abject and total FAILURE to deiliver a service to the pubilc it serves for if you were to fail to deliver you would be down the road quick sharp for it is not the humble postman/woman's fault but the total failure of management that has lead to this sad state of affairs!. For two sh*ts :cfo & :lfo do not make a buisness they just destroy it!.

Totally agree.
What really makes me mad is when Leighton refers to Royal Mails owner-The Government-as the 'shareholder'.....i own my car....i'm not the bleeding shareholder!!
Royal Mail cannot be run properly as a business while the universal service is in place;what other company would deliver a letter 100 yards up the road,and another in the wilds of Scotland for the same price?!!
Even Thatcher reconised that RM was unique in this sense....I think Brown would love to privatise RM,but is wary of this being used as a stick to beat the Labour party with in years to come.
An incoming Tory Government would privatise RM in its first 12 months...with absolute relish!!......but it will not mention this in its manifesto (for fear of it being a big vote loser)....it'll will merely state a review will be carried out on return to power.
Then every single Postman delivering letters will be a part timer,and there will be no universal service.......I hope i'm wrong,but i can't see it any other way.
