Reducing hours after 65 + .
My manager has been called a dinosaur by his manager, so iv no chance of getting any satisfaction from him also he is going to retire this July at 60 .I'm getting more annoyed by the day because of this situation.

Reducing hours after 65 + .
I advised in January 2018 that I wished to go part time in June 2018 when I became 63, my finances being in a position where I could fortunately do this, as we got closer to the date, the excuses started to get used, not enough staff, will do it after the summer etc, so to cut a long story short, I applied for a part time job at the local supermarket on the tills, got offered the job, handed in my notice and miracle of miracles suddenly they could let me go part time the next week !. So call there bluff, amazing how lazy managers can suddenly get there arses into gear when they have to.

Obviously your choice, but for me the part time hours was the big issue, was'nt bothered if it was at royal mail or somewhere else. Just wanted more quality time at home with my wife and grandchildren. Now I can enjoy them rather than struggling with the heavy workload of a job that really can only be achieved by the under 50's nowadays. Good luck to you however you choose to spend your future.
