As stated above alot of people can't do overtime part time or full time.
In the way forward agreement every opg should work there contracted hours ,
So on Christmas Eve everyone should get sent home at the same time when all the works completed etc dutys completed and the following weeks percentage of d/d.
They have singled out individuals so definitely a grivevence.
Talk to the rep if no joy comntact the area rep then if no joy stage 1 disagreement
Time management done the job correctly
Management are picking on certain individuals it's classed as a form off bullying

That DOM must have f****d himself over too.
He must have stayed until finish time, in order to be petty minded towards staff.
He must be a right idiot.

Ah, but you are forgetting that there is a change in culture agreement now with the CWU !Brandy wrote:Oh I am so so glad I am out of all this!
Must go, sure I just seen a pig flying over my neighbors roof, lol.
Seriously, nothing changes because rogue DOMs are allowed to do as they like and the CWU leaders are happy to sit back and allow it to carry on. They view it as local issues and carry on with their ostriches head in the sand attitude.
The working conditions- wages apart - is a shambles, every office differs and units with no reps suffer more than others.
Some DOMs just do as they wish, con the staff with their own wild interpretation of any event and carry on unchallenged, even worse without any accountability. Well done to Dave, Terry et al, you are doing a fine job for your membership - NOT.

This sounds really familiar to anybody that has ever worked at Royal Mail. The workplace is so corrupt and broken that it will never be fixed, staff and gaffers plotting against other colleagues/gaffers. Union in the pocket of gaffers (in one case locally I was told that the gaffer and union man even had a business together!!).
Staff signing in and finishing early depending on how pally they are with gaffer only leads to one thing anger and disagreement. I think there is basis for a grievance but I would aim higher than a local rep.

no, the unit rep asked the area rep for guidance, and the area rep said they didn't have a leg to stand on. he said the grievances (of which there is 4) won't hold any ground.Yamr1 wrote:Area rep will back this 100%aiden01 wrote:Has already explained the area rep has said grievances wont hold any groundYamr1 wrote:Simply bad management

the lino also told some of the lads today that the senior management are as 'pleased as punch' that the DOM took this course of action.

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

What I find ever so annoying is that you get some posties on easy duties that are readily able to do extra and still finish on time (and still get their overtime in) whilst there are other duties that really struggle to finish on time and have to cut off. Managers know this, DOM knows this, reps know this. But nothing happens. What does happen is that from time to time they put a super fast postie on the sh*te duty knowing full well they can complete in time and thereby declare that some posties are fast whilst others are naturally slower instead of trying to balance the duties out.
This is management in a nutshell and that is why some posties are equal BUT some posties are more equal than others. Managers rely on certain posties for doing the overtime and in turn they get "well looked after" with early IPS, overtime on day's off etc.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
