A postman accidentally smashed an Egyptian vase worth £200 when he pushed a parcel through an open bathroom window.
Jason Briscoe, 45, captured footage of the Royal Mail employee as he approached his flat's front door on a security camera.
In the clip, the postman is seen opening a small gate to walk up to Mr Briscoe's red door in Vauxhall, south London.
He posts a small handful of letters through the letter box before walking back down the concrete corridor.
But when he is half way down the walkway, the postman turns around, appearing to have forgotten the £1.99 package of HP printer ink in his bag.
He walks back through the gate and attempts to place the small parcel through the letter box - but finds it is too large.
He then scans the box and squeezes it through an open bathroom window.
A loud crash can be heard from within the flat as the parcel falls - which Mr Briscoe said was the box hitting a shelf containing his 'irreplaceable' alabaster vase.
The postman hears the bang and attempts to look through the window to spot any damage.
When he can't see inside, he opens the gate again, and quickly walks away from the decorator's apartment.
Mr Briscoe, 45, said he received a notification on his phone that movement had been detected at his front door at 2.52pm on Thursday.
He said: 'I saw the postman putting the package through my bathroom window despite the fact we have a cat flap that the package could have been placed through there.
'I could see him look back in the bathroom as he pushed the parcel into the bathroom where we have a shelf that the vase was sat on.

'At the time I didn’t realise something had broken as my phone's volume was turned down.
'It wasn’t until I got home at 4.50pm that I realised he had broken a handmade Egyptian alabaster vase.'
The vase had been purchased for just under £200 from a crafts shop in Luxor in 2011, Mr Briscoe said.
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: 'Royal Mail would like to sincerely apologise to the customer as they did not receive the high quality service our customers expect and deserve from Royal Mail on this occasion.
'This is a rare occurrence and all of our postmen and women are regularly reminded of the high standards expected of them and we have reiterated this again in this case.
'We are getting in contact with the customer to express our apologies and to offer a payment as a gesture of goodwill. Every item of mail we deliver is important to us.'
