Interview yesterday, waiting game!
So I had my interview yesterday after applying for 9 positions!
I think I’ve done pretty well, all the scenario based questions I had the interviewer fill his note page completely at least... seemed to get all the H&S questions down too.
Now it’s down to the waiting game! So I just wanted to try and get a feel for how long it took for any of you guys to get a response? Seen some say a week and some say a few months in some cases!
I asked on the day, but he said they would send off the scoring form within two days and then it’s in HR’s hands. Understand with Christmas I’m not expecting anything in the immediate!
Anyway, any advice from you guys would be great! And what did you all do to stop yourselves going crazy refreshing emails every few minutes...?

I also had my interview on a Thursday and got my reply the following Monday. It was a lot quicker than I'd anticipated. I'm now on the waiting list.
I'm now checking the RM job site regularly. Xmas is a welcomed distraction. I try to stay hopeful and positive but also realistic. If I don't manage to get in by the time my 3 months waiting list has expired, I'll keep trying and in the meantime, I'll try and do temporary work.

Wow that quick? When did you have your interview if you mind my asking? I'm in a similar boat with looking at temporary work as I left my previous job as I just couldn't take it anymore. Been a store manager for years and then moved away to pursue something more marketing based, which turned into just cold calling from 9 til 5...Caesar wrote:I also had my interview on a Thursday and got my reply the following Monday. My dads been a postie for 16 years now, and I'm desperate to get in the door! Fingers crossed for the response!

Interview yesterday, waiting game!
I had my interview on 21/11/18. I'm doing a temporary Xmas delivery job at the moment so that helps with keeping me occupied while on the waiting list.
I've got my fingers crossed for you too.

Interview yesterday, waiting game!
Well as an update, I’m still waiting for one! Though I did expect that I’d probably be waiting until after Christmas and possibly after new year before hearing anything back. Still feel confident that my interview went well, but the inevitable doubt is starting to set in
Anyone else have a long wait to hear back from interview? Or any advice to stop myself checking my email and profile 10 times a day...?
Oh and, Merry Christmas!

It was a couple of weeks before I heard back after interview and was then put on the waiting list and got a job offer a week or so later. This is not uncommon. Good luck and have a good xmasJ_FD wrote:Well as an update, I’m still waiting for one! Interview yesterday, waiting game!
Got the email to say I’d been successful yesterday! Completed the extra information on my profile and then had another email asking for the DVLA code and licence numbers.
Back to waiting now, but the vacancy did say when I applied that start date would be around the 31st, so looking on track for that as far as I can see.
Anyone have any experience with how long this wait will be? Email says up to 14 days so naturally I’m expecting the full whack waiting (which I’m pretty used to by now).

It looks like it was worth the wait.

Got my start date! I start this Monday coming for induction and then in my DO for the Tuesday! All the waiting was hard, but hopefully will all be worth it
Quick question, what do I do for uniform when I start? I’ve no idea what to wear whilst waiting for uniform to arrive!
Thanks guys

Hi, congratulations, I’m this weather I would wear something warm but maybe layers so if u get hot you can remove a few! T-shirt & jumper. Loose fitting trousers-wouldn’t reccomend jeans. Trainers.

Congratulations. You should be able to order basic uniform straight away which would be a fleece, polo shirts and bottoms and the rest after 6 weeks. Hopefully you will get a welcome pack with the info in it, if not someone should have the phone number to call and you will need your payroll number to order. I ordered my initial uniform by phone and they were very helpful I found and then was able to order the rest online. In the meantime go fir cargo trousers or similar not jeans, t shirt/polo shirt, jumper and jacket. I get very warm whilst walking so it may be an idea to have a couple of layers so you can take one off/put one on depending on how you are feeling. Comfy shoes obviously as you will be waking a lot of miles. I hope you enjoy the job as much as I do and good luck
