Yeh there is certainly cross-referencing of excess booked and PDA clocking off at our DO, though that does n't cover clocking on. But generally speaking I would guess RM gain more from people starting early than they lose from those coming in late.

I'm sure they do too, but royal mail are blind to such things, they don't tell the people coming in 45 mins early to go sit in their cars till proper start time, but wo betide you if you're 2 mins late signing on coz you couldn't park your car in the car park coz it was full already from all the early birds working for free!

Official clocking on and off to enable all work completed to be paid for would be an excellent change. But as it would eliminate free work and the union would likely say they don't want it to 'protect our members' then we won't get this implemented. Backward thinking from both sides of the coin.
