Well, the thump on the doormat and yep, it's a letter from Capita ...... break out the champagne ........no, wait, it is a letter from Capita but it's dated 22 November (where's it been for 3 weeks ?) and contains an incomplete set of forms, .....champagne back in fridge. The postage is prepaid and no date stamp which is annoying so I can't "prove" it's arrived today though given our local longstanding postman has been on alert for any pension post for me I could always get him to testify to its arrival
On the up side, at least it's only half a set of forms they've sent me by email, which puts the post room about 4 steps behind so maybe the "pensions now paid" letter will get to me for Valentines
Ah well, you got to laugh ...... or if I didn't I'd cry
Still, got the champers cooling nicely ....

Thanks for that. It's so frustrating as I'm not wealthy enough to stop work and I left RM Engineering in 2006 under the "Go now or we will make you redundant with a statutory payout" scenario. So now I will have to take the tax hit on the pension. With some warning I could have taken advice to lessen the blow. I will not just walk away from this. Believe me.N60 wrote:Terry,
If you click on the link in my earlier post (a couple back) you'll find the the email address and the phone number ..... here it is again https://www.royalmailsps.co.uk/contact-us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .......... Both those are live and in use.
You'll see the email address on the link is the same one Dennis gave you, it is definitely working (but Capita do take a while to reply) and you'll see it's different to the one you say you've used already .... there's an extra "s" in it ......its rmsps not rmps you've said you used. There's a few different schemes now - got to watch the abbreviations !
If you're still employed by RM I think the current pensions scheme is the royal mail pesniosn plan here's a link for that one.https://www.royalmailpensionplan.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You need to check which pension scheme you're in/trying to get your pension from and then contact the right people.

Well I emailed Richard Kurwan last night to remind him about my pension failure but so far no reply. When I got home today there was a letter from capita sent recorded delivery (my postie is on the lookout for me)! You could have knocked me down with a feather (I'm still recovering from the flying pig) it was my birth-certificate! I wasn't expecting to see that again! And it was mine not somebody else's! So maybe things are slowly improving! At the end of the letter they put 'if you need any help with anything please do not hesitate to contact us' (.... yep that's what I've been trying to do for the last three months!!!!). Anyway the birth-certificate was sent back the same day it arrived so I do hope they looked at it first. Nothing about my pension though. I've already anticipated what is likely to happen and have got my letter ready to email to the cabinet office tomorrow and Jon Lewis a little later. Any other company would see that my pension/lump sum (fast approaching two months late) has been made a priority by their CEO and has also been flagged by the cabinet office. If they can't get it right with them on the case there is little hope for them. Will keep you informed. PS Terry, if you are not getting anywhere, consider going straight to the CEO Jon Lewis - he's about the only one who replies.

As stated before, I'm a good few years away from my pension. However, the CWU now need to get its act together and fight for its members. They should go public with this and embarrass / shame both the government and Capita.

I agree - where are the union on this? I'm no longer a member but emailed them twice a while ago - no reply! They should realise by now that there are problems potentially affecting all its members and should be taking steps on behalf of them.heapsy wrote:As stated before, I'm a good few years away from my pension. It doesn't appear to get any better for us! Only four days (three by the time you read this) before the cut-off for December's pension and we are left in limbo yet again. All I can see now is flying pigs mounting the horizon! No reply from Richard Kirwan either - perhaps it's office party time- then the Xmas hols - then the new year hangovers! You're right we have to laugh or it could really bring us down. I'm sure it will get sorted eventually but.... keep your spirits up and keep at them!N60 wrote:Well, the thump on the doormat and yep, it's a letter from Capita ...... break out the champagne ........no, wait, it is a letter from Capita but it's dated 22 November (where's it been for 3 weeks ?) and contains an incomplete set of forms, .....champagne back in fridge. I'M SPEECHLESS GUYS! My pension has gone through! I had an email first thing this morning from good old Richard Kirwan confirming that it had gone into the December pay roll (they didn't say this December though ha-ha). But fair play to the buggers! I feel a bit guilty now after ripping them to bits at every opportunity but that will soon pass! It's been a game though and I still won't be sure until I actually get the pension. Will keep you informed and keep posting. But things seem as though they are improving from the top down.
May I take this opportunity to thank the creator of this thread - it's been a support through a difficult time and it would have been so much worse to have had to deal with this on my own. Thanks to everybody that posted and best wishes to all.

I got a reply from Dominic Arthur to acknowledge my Email and that his staff will look into the matter. If anybody is suffering from CAPITA mismanagement. I strongly suggest that you Email this person as he has a lot of clout in his department and evidence can be used. Hearsay cannot.
Judging by other areas (Soldier Recruitment) Capita has a lot to answer for.
I have since found out that RM Pensions bid to carry on the work, but were deemed too expensive. To quote a Japanese business guru "the lingering after taste of poor quality lasts far longer than the sweet smell of a cheap price". I understand the decision had political undertones after the sale of Royal Mail shares.

Thank you! You reminded me about Richard Kirwan and I'm glad I emailed him to check for me or I'd be none the wiser. I do hope you hear some good news soon, did you get your original certificates back? Thanks for all your support and I will check my bank accountN60 wrote:That's great news Dennis ! Well things are looking up - had an email to say my pension has been processed and will be paid in December, also been promised a letter confirming it will be sent "by first class post" ......that was Monday, nothing yet but will see what turns up. So long as it's there in the bank account at the end of December that's fine. We'll see. In the meantime thanks to all for help and support. Have a good Christmas and all best wishes for 2019. ....... and good luck with your pensions !

That's great news! I had my letter through the post Monday confirming my pension for the end of Dec - let's hope they've got their act together and things are improving. I think people are more aware of the problems we have encountered (including Capita). When the pension is activated it should be okay because it's a computer program and will run automatically. Likewise, thanks to all for help and support and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year!N60 wrote:Well things are looking up - had an email to say my pension has been processed and will be paid in December, also been promised a letter confirming it will be sent "by first class post" ......that was Monday, nothing yet but will see what turns up. I've just found this post and so glad I have.
I thought it was just me getting fobbed off in the black hole.
My pension is now overdue, no sign of any options paperwork, lost count of the number of calls and emails I've tried and sick of hearing the words " I'll escalate this".
What a joke!! Next step Jon Lewis and the Pensions ombudsman.
