My gut feeling is that'll end up being a bollocking for the DOM from higher up. afaik the only Delivered Scanned items are Amazon and so I can see the scan rates being closely monitoredDave3456 wrote:Told to forget about 2ds And delivered scanned

Christmas is here and RM can’t even provide basic equipment to do the job. We are scolded for missing one tracked or 2d barcodes any other time of the year. “We’ll lose our customers if we don’t scan all the barcodes!” What a load of crap.

It's dodgy whatever way you do it, if somebody denies receving there's nothing RM can say because there's no gps information. Don't help that the Boots stuff is so messed up either, tracked no signature need signing for and vice versa. Nightmare. Guess RM figure it's worth it to get the work done.

what if you drop your phone whilst taking a photo of the parcel left, who is then liable for the damage? RM? I doubt it.
my phone is for personal use ONLY.

Too many posties are willing to use their personal phone, car, and whatever else to pull RM out of the s**t, not realising it could land them in it.

You simply tell him you aren't doing it. Your phone is your personal property and unless Royal Mail pay for that use and insure it, then it doesn't get used for anything business related, other than if you need to phone office for any reason, for which you should be reimbursed.Smith1212 wrote:Not when your told to in work time learner by your bossthemailman wrote:You can be conducted for taking pics of barcodes.Smith1212 wrote:Take photos then scan them on pda when back to the van it’s so annoying!

To be quite honest, I couldn't be arsed to hand write barcodes all day. Don't get me wrong, you're in the right here, you should refuse but I really haven't got the patience to do it!steve1873 wrote:You simply tell him you aren't doing it. Plus my phone is smashed to pieces anyway, there's really little more I could do to it.

I am completely baffled as to how a company as big as Royal Mail can’t properly equip staff... I’m also seeing a big shortage in trolleys which is just ridiculous.

Biggest problem with the trolleys are most posties don't use one. Once the heavy workload hits, they all suddenly need one! Management should have been on top of this from the start and ensure there is always atleast one working trolley per postie. Then some spares and replaced once one brakes.Rapidryan88 wrote:I am completely baffled as to how a company as big as Royal Mail can’t properly equip staff...
