Make sure you clear packets and tracked and screw the mail - seems to be the mantra at our place.

Can someone tell me then, in a shared van with a driver and a passenger - when the driver is focussing on the packets/specials/tracked - what is the passenger doing?

Surely there's more than enough Tracked to keep you both busy

You mean both sit in a van together delivering parcels? Seems expensive

Park & Loop? The way 2 in a van is supposed to work?

But if the job share is directed to concentrate on parcels and screw the mail like mailman says, how do you do that under park and loop?

Instead of carrying mail & packets in your LWT you just carry packets?

Or footman does both loops and driver does packets? It's called team work.

No no, I think there’s confusion here, I think mailman like me has been directed, “clear the parcels and leave the letters” being left one van between the two of you and being expected to somehow make it work.

There are no loops if there are no letters, are there?

Now really where's the confusion  ...a loop doesn't have to be made up of mail does it? It's just an area of ground you cover on your delivery

Mailman is the guy with the post who has clearly been told the same as me; I’m sure like me he’s talking about having say 150 parcels to do between the two of you, those being oversized, you’ve only got one van so the point is saying leave letters doesn’t really help, if you’d have one partner walking round with a parcel in each bag on the LWT then the driver meeting back up to give him two more as he walks between the drops then it’s an interesting system you’d have me doing.

Point is we’re both being told get parcels done between the two of you, don’t worry about letters, then wonder why you can only do 10% more than if it was just you alone, rather than double.

Obviously oversized would be done in a van, i don't do oversized on my duty but have more than enough parcels to keep me out till my time and if you have been told to leave the mail i guess you have to?

Oh and apologies it wasn't till i re-read the comments i realised who the Mailman you were referring to!

Yeah no probs, solution is to work as instructed and remember we are just the labour. I was merely expressing I knew exactly what he was talking about, I’ve been getting 100-150 oversized on our van share (1700 delivery points), been given a part time partner (which is fine, no complaints) and pressed to clear all parcels everyday with only four hours duty left (later out of office time).

Answer is to fill the PDA with good work and cut cut cut

i am quite frankly stunned this is going on, a blatant disregard of the USO.

Wasn’t there a theory that failing the USO might not be a bad thing going into any renegotiation of its terms?

Our office seems really committed to helping the business in this way.
