Last time I checked our office had at least 10 yorks of RLO mail. Most of it has been moved outside under tarpaulin to make room.

If you take out the ghosted hours at my office the system would crumble in one day and never recover. It relies on people doing overtime - take this out (which i understand is Croziers plan) and the office would cease to operate.

Theres just too much work, too little hours and not enough staff...the only reason the mail get out at all is because of Ghosted hours.

In addition theres currently a remit going on which will result in either a longer walk or more sorting being placed on a duty.

How are we going to cope with this?

Work till your time and dont rush - leave the management to clean up the cat s**t.

Latest howler from many DOM's in Lancashire is that 'Packets' can be delivered late since letters in frames come first...........do these idiots not realise that the only thing protecting their precious profit is packets. Trying to deliver all the Downstream S"%$ that the firm makes no money on hardly seems vital. RESULT massive packet backlogs in every DO. (that's in the ones that can clear the letters!). Varies from Office to Office but some DOM's still applying 'no more overtime than normal' in order to 'punish/not reward' strike. Joke is even in the offices where they open-house O/T STILL not clearing Daily.........now talk of a 'restoration' plan............surely the wonderful imposed duties haven't failed? After all they where enforced without our involvment let alone agreement................WHO CAN THE MEN IN SUITS BLAME?.................(Clue try looking in a mirror/the man with the Big Bonus and no pay rise).......no you've guessed it- it's the OPG's fault!!!!!!

So packets ,our most profitable service are being deliberately handicapped. The only service we offer that has existing realisticly alternative networks in place is being thrown to the wall.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Not sure we make much profit on packets? I know it's the about the only growth area, but they're expensive to handle as it's all manual double handling etc

About 140 yorks in our office - God knows how many more distribution centre. Sunday sorting was offered and some jerks even accepted it. This is their problem - I ain't gonna bust a gut to clear the backlog. Once the mess is cleared then they will start to slaughter us.
