Does this job get easier after Christmas?!!!
The amount of Christmas cards has dropped off a hell of a lot over recent years, just need to look at the number of CFCs (or the culler sections of IMPs) are running and how long they're running for

They can't have it both ways, they can't refuse to pay part-time workers bonuses and holiday pay equivalent to how much they actually work. AND expect people to work overtime.number one wrote: You sound like one of those that do the utter minimum amount of work that you can possibly get away with. If you have no pride or desire to make sure customers receive their items in time for xmas then go and get a other job. A bit of overtime is expected (I know they can force you blah blah blah) at this busy time of year.
IT'S NOT VOLUNTARY IF IT'S EXPECTED!

Probably my biggest gripe about the job. I'd probably do a bit more overtime if I got the same amount as them.Postie45 wrote:theyre the ones who clear a cut off which takes an hour and book 2 hours and get it, if the original postie extended theyd only get hours worked,TheTrolleyMan wrote:MUMs stands for Mop Up Muppets .... Most of the time I just end up thinking 'do I really want to go over another hour just for a tenner?'
Sooner or later, a beat dog bites.

You are either a Manager or one of the favourites. Or have no responsibilities other than work. Lots do, particularly PTimers - school pick ups, child care, other half working in patterns. RM should stop doing everything on the cheap and advertise more hour contracts.number one wrote:LaggyBand wrote:Christmas is no harder or more stressful than any other time of year. All days are the same.
If you find they are not, either:
A) you are not utilising all paid hours;
B) you are not utilising the overrunning procedure; or
C) you are not doing either.
Emotions are out. Automation is in.
You sound like one of those that do the utter minimum amount of work that you can possibly get away with. If you have no pride or desire to make sure customers receive their items in time for xmas then go and get a other job. A bit of overtime is expected (I know they can force you blah blah blah) at this busy time of year.
So, what is a 'bit of overtime'? 1, 2, 3 hours? Is it the same as 'a bit of time off' for appointments?
Is it that same overtime that the LM refused to pay in the summer? Especially to newbies who don't take their breaks because of peer pressure and wanting to get through the probation period and told 'You forfeit some of your break if you don't take it, so can't claim it. Or some other clap trap to save their hours.
The day they told me some bull many moons ago was the day THEY decided for me that they couldn't expect me to do overtime. If I want to do it, I tell them. And thats not often.
