Royal Mail believe AHDC just like PDA actuals to be a great idea but managers on the shop floor are aware that postmen and women on a regular basis 1. come in early 2. skip breaks 3. rush round without a LWT and 4. finish early. Its been tried and failed before that the moment managers either get staff to do more indoor work or start sending posties back out to work their hours, goodwill goes out of the window. Posties start refusing to come in early, start taking breaks and refuse to do any overtime (which is great for us) though all it does for Royal Mail is put it in the $*it. In some ways its not a bad thing but managers are ultimately judged on performance and if walks start failing or sick absence goes up it comes back to bite them on the ar$e unfortunately. Thats the only logical explanation that accepts staff finishing early and ghost overtime.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

to be honest if you have cwu members not willing or refusing to accept the cwu advise on the correct way to work and save and protect jobs , but these people are quite happy to take pay rises and any other money , its beyond me .postslippete wrote:Royal Mail believe AHDC just like PDA actuals to be a great idea but managers on the shop floor are aware that postmen and women on a regular basis 1. come in early 2. skip breaks 3. rush round without a LWT and 4. finish early. When people are taking home £550+ a week being a postie why should they worry about protecting jobs, worrying about that doesn’t pay bills. Delivery jobs in Royal Mail are probably one of the safest about. Don’t kid yourself.worktotime wrote:to be honest if you have cwu members not willing or refusing to accept the cwu advise on the correct way to work and save and protect jobs , but these people are quite happy to take pay rises and any other money , its beyond me .postslippete wrote:Royal Mail believe AHDC just like PDA actuals to be a great idea but managers on the shop floor are aware that postmen and women on a regular basis 1. come in early 2. skip breaks 3. rush round without a LWT and 4. finish early. And I was going to say not forgetting the thousands of posties that are NOT CWU members, yet are still quite happy to take pay rises and any other money!!

For as long as I can remember posties have ignored the cwu telling them not to start early and to take a break so why would it change now? When we did listen to union and backed them this time last year they messed it up so we couldn't strike and show rm that we wouldn't be pushed around. We ended up with a crap agreement and pension that might never see the light of day but lots of nice partnership talk and videos with Terry and and top rm bosses.worktotime wrote:to be honest if you have cwu members not willing or refusing to accept the cwu advise on the correct way to work and save and protect jobs , but these people are quite happy to take pay rises and any other money , its beyond me .postslippete wrote:Royal Mail believe AHDC just like PDA actuals to be a great idea but managers on the shop floor are aware that postmen and women on a regular basis 1. come in early 2. skip breaks 3. rush round without a LWT and 4. finish early.
