Yes, maybe so about linos, but in most other work places they would be team leaders of supervisor not management. Yes their are good and bad in every walk of life but RM, have difficulty sacking incompetent managers and posties. They just move them around and in a lot of cases promote them after messing up. It's one of those oddities from being a government dept that was run on civil service terms but run on military conditions. Like, RTU, return to unit, AL, annual leave ect. In other jobs it would be back to work and holidays. Us that have served in the forces, well we all know the officers and senior rates/ranks who should have been binned but instead got promoted or moved. Even the ones who REALLY messed up were given a desk in a back room somewhere, very much like RM. Like I've said there's good and bad everywhere but RM just keep them on the revolving door.
