Change of career, goodbye 9-5!

I've now emailed the recruitment team on his personal email for a second time this morning hoping that he might possibly be able to give an start date sooner, there is nothing worse when you're stuck in a job you despise and everyday feels like a chore to get up.

I know we all have days like that, but its been everyday for 3 months almost...once I get that start date I feel like just going home and never returning :speak to the hand But the sensible side of me thinks I should just do my time and suck it up :thumbdown

Hurry up recruitment!
Please let me know if they reply?

I have e-mailed them a couple of times to ask various questions but as of yet haven't had a reply!!

I just re-read the email of the conditional offer and there is actually a telephone number for recruitment services which might be worth a crack if I've not heard anything by the end of the week, my 14th working day is the 1st of November....cant do any harm right?

And yes of course I will kee you updated!

Well done WiltsVilla, how long did it take from when you first submitted for your pre-employment checks out of curiosity?

Good luck everyone! :dance

Hey guys, I also got my start date confirmed recently. It took 13 days in total from the date I got confirmation of details being submitted.

From what I'm reading, that may be faster than usual. I did chase it a number of times, though.

That was quick! I got my email about pre-employment checks on the 15th October, still waiting for any kind of letter or email to confirm progress, all this waiting is driving me a bit nuts. :nana

When you said you chased it, did you follow up by email or by phone out of interest?

Congratulations aswell! :dance

Emailed a number of times. I didn't ever receive a response, but emails would appear a few days later. Not sure if there's any correlation.

Best of luck to ya! I know the wait is tough.

Looks like I've got lucky with this part as it's been pretty speedy. Just had a call to say I've passed and to sort a suitable induction date. Confirmation email to be sent tomorrow.

It takes for ever guys, at one point I actually thought it maybe after Xmas it was so slow, in my 38yrs of employment I've never experienced anything like it, my sister works for the MOD that has quicker recruitment, I think if I was royal mail id be moving my recruitment agency, what do they do for God's sake? how hard can it be too process an application, I worked in admin an could process 2mill a week and at Xmas 1million a day!! seriously someone needs a kick up the bum!!

WiltsVilla, did your date keep changing on the application profile? Mine has changed from 19/10 to 22/10 and then to 23/10 (today) although it still states Pre Employment Checks.

There weren't too many changes due to the quick processing.
18/10 started pre employment checks
Update 19/10.
If I looked on my phone even in desktop mode it just said pre employment checks. If I looked on PC it said SCP-Ext-Non-Ref.
It still says 19/10 but guessing this will change when she confirms in the morning.

Fingers crossed I hear back soon too. I’ve e-mailed to let them know I’m available immediately and That I can start ASAP. Did they give an indication of when your induction may be?

The next one was going to be something like 12th November which was too short for my notice period. They're planning another one for 27th though, which works for me.

Looks like you had more communication than me. I didn't get any phone calls at all to say what was happening but got an email out of the blue yesterday to say I'm starting next Tuesday! Be prepared for very little notice guys. So it was 3 months from beginning to end and about a month since the DBS checks came back.
I kept ringing and emailing to chase them up (about once a week). I didn't really get much help or response but I wonder 8f I'd did speed things up in the end?
