LTB 600/18 - Post Office: Two Year Collective Agreement - Pay
No. 600/2018

22nd October 2018

Dear Colleagues

POST OFFICE: TWO YEAR COLLECTIVE “AGREEMENT – PAY

Branches will be aware that our Post Office members are facing very difficult times, with the constant attack on their jobs and on the future of the Crown Office Network. This was of course exacerbated with the recent announcement of further franchising to WHSmith of 74 Crowns.

Despite this dire situation, we clearly needed to resolve pay for our members, especially as the pay date was 1st April 2018. Indeed, for those members contemplating the possibility of being TUPEd to WHSmith or conversely taking a Settlement Agreement, it should be noted that both pay increases are guaranteed for TUPE purposes and crucially will flow through to the compensation monies linked to a Settlement Agreement.

I would therefore like to advise Branches that the Postal Executive has unanimously endorsed a two year Pay Agreement for all Post Office members as follows:

• 2.8% consolidated pay increase from 1st April 2018 flowing through to all allowances including London Weighting and overtime rates.

• 2.5% consolidated pay increase from 1st April 2019 flowing through to all allowances including London Weighting and overtime rates.”
Assuming that RM staff bite to accept this offer. It will be paid, backdated, in December.

Yet Angard seem to be still struggling with the 2017 Oay Increase for us.

The backpay promised for recent months has not materialised. The matter of paid breaks has not been resolved.

We have no official notification of our current pay rates and ANGARD will shortly find themselves in a bigger mess trying to calculate backpay for this year’s pay increase.

Why are they unable to perform simple tasks like this without falling fouls of the AWR Regulations EVERY time?

Reason: changed title and moved back to Angard as the original post was causing some confusion.

This has nothing to do with RM or Angard.
It's for Post Office staff.

True, but under AWR, anyone who has worked for ANGARD for RM more than 12 weeks HAS to be paid the same rate as RM staff.

That's valid for RM pay rates and increases.
It's not valid for Post Office rates or increases, they are an entirely separate company with absolutely no connection to Royal Mail.

CROWN STAFF TRANSFERRED TO WHSMITH SHOULD TAKE THEIR PACKAGE FROM COUNTERS AS THE TUPE TO WHSMITH WILL END AFTER 12 MONTHS AND THEY WILL LOSE ON AVARAGE ABOUT £4 PER HOUR OR £155 PER WEEK AS WHSMITH PAY MOST STAFF THE MINIMUM WAGE OR JUST ABOVE IT. w*****s. :thumbdown

Funny that the Registered Office of RM is the same as that for ANGARD.

Also that two of the Directors if ANGARD are also Furectirs of RM.

This has all been tested at the Employment Tribunal in late 2016.

Now there are other claims against them, jointly.

Post Office Counters has nothing to do with Royal Mail Group and is a totally separate company .
Royal Mail Group owns Angard and many other companies as part of their portfolio .
