Too Much Leave?

Post by chris6482 »

I work on a weekend duty (working Saturdays only).

This year I seem to have been given a lot of leave. The book room said it was to allow for the bank holidays.

As I only work on Saturdays, 1 week's leave means I just get the Saturday off in my week of leave.

This year I've been given about 11 weeks leave, I'm not sure if they've made a mistake?

I do get some extra for long service (25 years).

Well, I've asked the person in the book room several times if it's correct, and they've said it is. Apparently it's something to do with the bank holidays.

You get also get pro-rata credit for bank holidays. At one-fifth a day per holiday, that adds another day.

If you haven;t been taking seven days a year for the last few years, it'll add up. They probably want to get the accrued leave off their books.
