Rain/snow affecting the PDA??

The PDA's just get put in a heep outside the locker and the PHG puts them in the cradles when he gets time. Doesn't touch the battery.
I wonder if that's resulting in the PDAs just turning themselves off instead of a controlled switch off/shutdown and then possibly as a result f***ing some of the software up, either the Android software and/or the RM software

With anything being scanned by the PDA the GPS can be used to confirm the likelihood that the customer did receive the item and then you will be alright. Try to remember to press the submit/done button on the doorstep or point of delivery if you can. This is one thing we often can forget to do until maybe the next or several houses away.

Say you press scan at the house before a packet's destination but you don't press submit until you reach the doorstep of the delivery address. Does the system register the co-ordinates of where the barcode was first scanned or the co-ordinates of the PDA at the moment the on-screen "submit" button is pressed?

Rain/snow affecting the PDA??

These were supposed to have been dropped kicked by Johny Wilkinson,a thousand times, sent down to twenty thousand feet into the abyss, jumped on by a herd of elephants, thrown into mount Vesuvius,
buried in the arctic for 6 months, taken into space on the shuttle to test gravity, and dropped back to earth, to see if it survives re-entry....

Truth....

They are worse than the old pieces of crap, slow, take ages to bleep after a scan, can't take any moisture at all, freeze at will, scan a sign for, get a signature...then freeze..,miss scan collection boxes, bleep like they have scanned, but they haven't, always scan the post code bar code before anything else...no problem at all! Won't download collection list half the time, customers can't write properly on them(so many times.....take your hand off the screen and it will write!!)

basically, frustratingly, s**t.
How much were they each?? Oh 1500 quid?
Typical wasteful RM.
Always be one step ahead, play their game but be wiser. Revenge is sweet.

The version of Android that they run is about 3-4 versions out of date and that's after the update to Lollipop.

Yep, absolute joke in the rain. if not being able to type customers names in , scan, or even log in with the water droplets wasn't enough it gets much worse! Whenever we have the slightest bit of rain it gets into the battery compartment (seriously thinking of smearing the housing with vaseline) it logs out, restarts and won't do a damn thing, even had it refuse to scan a pillar box once and from then on nothing would scan, basically if it's raining I use an epod card (which is worse than they used to be seeing as they cheeped out on the paper and made it thinner and now when the customer writes on if you get lucky enough for it not to be paper mâché then the pen goes through the paper) or I get customers to write their name and sign on a p739 which is ridiculously unprofessional!!! Wish I had my old brick back, never balled up in the rain even though the battery longevity was shitte!
