Applying from waiting list without email link
I have been on the waiting list for 10 weeks and a job in my local DO has just come up, as I didn’t get a link to apply in my email telling me I was on the list I have applied the normal way, I have received the email asking me to complete the tests, do I just ignore it and wait to hear something?

My own opinion, complete them hoping you pass, but also alert the recruitment team.Wicket2017 wrote:I have been on the waiting list for 10 weeks and a job in my local DO has just come up, as I didn’t get a link to apply in my email telling me I was on the list I have applied the normal way, I have received the email asking me to complete the tests, do I just ignore it and wait to hear something?
When going for a job, my default position is belts and braces, better to do too much, than not enough.

Thanks, I’ve alerted the recruitment team but don’t fancy taking the tests again in case I don’t pass

Well the recruitment team didn’t get back to me at all and I’ve just received an email to say I was unsuccessful because I didn’t complete the online tests, what’s the point in having a waiting list when they totally disregard it

email them back they may change the status. You have nothing to lose, unless you are rude when replying to themWicket2017 wrote:Well the recruitment team didn’t get back to me at all and I’ve just received an email to say I was unsuccessful because I didn’t complete the online tests, what’s the point in having a waiting list when they totally disregard it

Was it the hrsc-rrf or myapplication email addresses you tried? A couple of weeks ago I got a failure-to-deliver message (eventually) from the former, and an automatic reply from the latter listing new contact details which are postcode dependent. If you didn't get this (and if this is allowed?), maybe PM me with the first 2 letters of the area postcode, so I can then send you the relevant contact email?Wicket2017 wrote:I have emailed them but I’m not hopeful

I got quick replies (not that my questions were fully answered though!), so sorry to hear you haven't. You probably did this already but, make sure to quote relevant job refs in the subject (original and new one) and body of email, and quote the original confirmation and instructions for being on waiting list. Also, I emailed both named individuals for my area in case one of them was off. And if available on your email app choose high priority for your message. Can't say I'm speaking from much experience but maybe it'll make a difference and help you stand out more if they're snowed-under this time of year. Good luck.Wicket2017 wrote:I also got the failure to deliver email so emailed the appropriate person according to my email and still got no response

So the most amazing thing has happened! Out of the blue I got a phone call today from Royal Mail offering me a job! She said as I was on their waiting list but my time on it has officially expired but she told me they were being a bit lenient! Im so happy right now and my security checks are underway. The only downside is I’m starting a new job on Monday as I had given up on Royal Mail so that will be a bit awkward when I come to hand my notice in but I’m looking forward to my new postie career!

Applying from waiting list without email link
I have been told I am on waiting list after an interview last monday.
I received an email and all it said was to apply as normal but not to bother doing the online tests
Should I have a link in this email to apply with?
Thanks
Michelle

I didn’t have a link and the next vacancy I applied for I just ignored the request to do the tests but then received an email to say I was unsuccessful because I failed to complete the tests. A few days later I applied again when my time on the waiting list had expired, completed the tests and then received a call from recruitment offering me the job, the whole process has me totally confused

TB, haha, I've never heard that phrase, belts 'n' braces. Good one, I will need to remember that one.
