I am looking forward to going back and I am sure the DOM will be pleased to see me. How often do you get a new starter who knows all of the deliveries within the DO??!!

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Thank you Postman, I had heard about that but wasn’t 100% sure. I was hoping to go back on the higher pay scale as well but not sure if that will happen. Anybody else have any experience on this note?POSTMAN wrote:Please remember that your previous service counts towards your holiday allocation but not seniority.SW Postie wrote:I had a phone call from HR today offering me a position at my old DO. Update
On Saturday I received an email stating that my offer of employment is conditional until pre-employment checks have been completed, which I understand can take up to 14 working days.
In the mean-time I was told to please send a digital photograph of myself for my ID badge, did this immediately and now waiting for the results of my pre-employment checks...got my fingers crossed that they come sooner than 14 working days as in my current job i'm struggling to not just walk out
Cant wait to be out on delivery, wind, rain, snow...even freaking tornados wont stop me!

I got the same email on 12th Sept. They sat on the application for the security checks for 2 weeks before they even submitted them and then they only did it because I kept chasing them. Its now been over 3 weeks since the security checks came back and everything was fine but still no starting date so you may have a long wait. Its very frustrating. All in all its been a 10 weeks since my interview!

No, it still says waiting for pre employment checks but I've spoken to them and they said that it's all OK (I had the DBS back 3 weeks ago) and they say I'm just waiting for a welcome day.

Fingers crossed that something happens soon then. My checks were submitted on Friday so it is just a waiting game now. I did e-mail stating that I am happy to travel a bit further for the induction day if it means I can start sooner!!!

Wow I cant believe you've been waiting so long @PinkPaws
I'd imagine they would want us to start ASAP to get ready for Christmas, i'm going to work everyday checking my email constantly, need that start date so I pack my current job in, might not even give notice...its THAT bad where I am

h3xusr, has your application been updated recently? I’m guessing yours is stating Pre Employment Checks and the date?

Think I've already said I'm in the same position, and just want to leave my job. I also have loads of holiday to use up. So need a start date no matter how far away as ideally I don't want to use it and get paid when I leave but also don't want to be left with no time to use it.h3xusr wrote:Wow I cant believe you've been waiting so long @PinkPaws

The long wait...everyday feels like an eternity.
I've now emailed the recruitment team on his personal email for a second time this morning hoping that he might possibly be able to give an start date sooner, there is nothing worse when you're stuck in a job you despise and everyday feels like a chore to get up.
I know we all have days like that, but its been everyday for 3 months almost...once I get that start date I feel like just going home and never returning
But the sensible side of me thinks I should just do my time and suck it up
Hurry up recruitment!
