Why. For someone telling the truth.

Its no wonder the share price is dropping as the work force is useless. The CWU is killing the firm and the full time reps are to blame no one else

The CWU is working against the company growing.

The majority of OPG in my unit are good people, but you have a core who are lazy and work harder to do less work than do it. Let management get rid of the rotton apples and let the company grow. These people I am on about wouldn't get a job anywhere else but Royal Mail put up with them and the CWU protect them. These people are ruining a good job for the rest of the people.

Are you assuming management are faultless in your appraisal ?
I have never heard such bollocks in my life, what has the CWU done to impact on the share price ?
They have bend over backwards to appease RM and the shareholders to the detriment of their own members.
The culture problem is firmly caused by RM and not lazy posties. I know this is an open forum for all sorts, but you are talking drivel to divert attention from the real culprits in why there is a drop in share price.
You have only succeeded in playing down over worked under valued colleagues if you work in delivery, if NOT, you work as Tory party lobbyist.

In what way do you see the company growing but for the CWU?

PDA actual, if they help anyone, it will be managemsnt. And management alone.
If people have left the union over the lack of union presence then they’ve sealed their fate

We are getting paid for unskilled labour nothing special. We are glorified paperboys nothing else.

We keep blaming management but the truth is the posties are lazy and will drive the company into the ground.
Actually I believe more postman are hard workers than lazy workers. A lot of people come in early and finish with barely enough time to finish on time/ even go over because they don’t want to be seen as lazy by management.

And what is your knowledge of running a logistics company ? You do not have the faintest idea of my business knowledge !
If you are so good, how are your boundless talents only being utilised In mail processing/delivery ? Within a company that is being run by twats from the top level to DOM level and all in between.
I recognised RMs management failings quickly,
within my first week, coming from a job where positions of authority were only given to those of ability, not by licking arses and being sneaky. What REAL qualifications do area managers really have ?
In recent years there has been a tendency to recruit graduates. News for you in my unit there a 4 OPGs pounding streets with University degrees ! Let the company grow ? Like our competitors with piss poor conditions and zero hour contracts ?
Grow for shareholders benefit only not for the benefit of posties who do the real work delivering the mail and parcels.
OPGs have changed a lot in the last ten years - enforced and empty promises-and they have lost many jobs in process.
If you are advocating a part time workforce with unachievable workloads to appease shareholders, yeh I know nothing about the business of treating people like s**t and being brow beaten slaves to intransigent bosses.
I know there are some poor posties, but another aspect of failed/poor management cannot improve them - can they ?

Maybe he hasnt got the confidence to apply for it. he is still allowed to criticise though like most of us do. :thumbup or maybe you are so good everything you do and say is perfect.
Criticism is fine, put if the person giving it couldn’t do a better job themselves best to pipe down
So if it is a whole office doing the criticising should they all pipe down an let rep do what he likes.
If the current rep is the only one with the balls to step forward and apply for it then they should offer assistance and help.

and if they have the balls and experience but have other commitments which mean they cannot give the position the time and attention it needs. I'd be a rep in a heartbeat if I didn't have full time caring commitments I have after work.

Anyone and everyone should be able to criticise a rep, just like on here, we don't ban people from commenting because we disagree with them and the Union should be the same.

Well said. Freedom of speech.

And how do you propose the OPG change to let the company grow? By having them all unpaid volunteer OPGs?

The company can’t grow due to the way it’s run. It has zero to do with us on the ground.

:Applause . Matt needs to apply for a job with one of those blue tooth companies he promotes.
Like Hermes, Yodel etc and enjoy all the fringe benefits they offer. Strange that is what he thinks would be good for the rest of us, as we and the Union are holding back our marvellous well oiled machine that is Royal Mail with good truly futuristic man management skills an£ abilities.!

Everyone jumped on him too quick. You should have let him add detail to it, I was genuinely curious.

If it was built on slop it’d’ve fell.

I really dislike people who come on here slagging off colleagues.
In delivery there is plenty of unfair treatment dished out daily by RM management.
I wish I knew the true level of complaints- grievances- put in by those brave enough to do so ! And the relevant outcome of them. What happens to the complainer as well as the aggressor? Ever heard of a manager being sacked ? Moved on to another unit yes, no but disciplinary action taken though.
Far too many colleagues try to do a managers job for them, pointing out the failings of others, etc.
Tell tales and gossips are very dangerous in small a unit especially. To lay the blame on delivery staff for lack of growth is obscene, and unfair. Workload levels are not fair and the cut off or OT figures can easily prove that, yet people seem to think getting more work done on the cheap is the answer to all problems and appease shareholders.
Why, oh why has no one ever caught onto managers and Lino’s sitting on their arses once the loading bays are clear ??
That’s when the real work starts for posties,in all weather, not cosying up to a heater or a cooling fan !
Drifting off home early every day, leaving theiroffices unattended for any response to delivery problems on walks ?
DOMs on massive wages compared to hard worked PT staff who for every single minute is accountable ! in an effort to achieve a delivery only to be humiliated and accused of poor performance by people who could never match them in effort.
Still we get supposed colleagues coming on thread accusing THEM of being lazy, while being blind to the main culprits who bleed the company dry, by more unearned income than they deserve. A poster has the nerve to come on forum to say “ he is only telling the TRUTH “ needs to look at management to see where the real money is lost and the true reason the company will fail to grow. Of course there are a few bad apples, compared to DIMs and Lino’s work effort ? there is NO comparison.
