A Royal Mail van has burst into flames this afternoon

As these pictures show, the van burst into flames in Hever Court Road, Singlewell.

The pictures were taken shortly after 3.15pm and at that time, firefighters had not arrived at the scene.

The incident happened outside the Manor Hotel.

Spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Kirsty Gearey said: "We are called at 3.24pm to a van well alight.

"The fire was out by 3.45pm."

Tell you what looks like one of those new Peugeot vans, everytime I get out of mine it smells like the brakes are smoulding. Wouldn't be surprised if that started this fire.

Hope the driver did a vehicle check before driving from his/her office cos even if the only defect is an under deflated tyre by 2 PSI then its curtains for the driver because again this is the blame culture firm we work for, managers will inspect this vehicle with a fine tooth comb I’m afraid instead of treating the driver who would be in a state of shock. I can also bet they made him/her complete their duty
