Angard Policy Query

PLEASE can anyone help or advise about the following:

There appears to be no official policy regarding working for Angard at two sites simultaneously. In 2016, it was approved I could work at two mail centres (they were apparently desperate to cover shifts at the second centre) and I did so for two years, then a supervisor at Angard advised me I could no longer do so, stating (a) they had no way of monitoring if I was breaking the working time directive, ie. having enough time off between shifts and (b) it wasn’t fair on other staff as I would potentially get more shifts than my colleagues.

Furthermore, I am told I can change mail centre if I want but I cannot then change back.

I verbally appealed this twice, and got nowhere. It seems others on this forum work or have worked at different sites, with no issues (just as I had no issues for two years). Are Angard able to make such a decision locally, with no laid down procedure?

Angard can do pretty much what they like when it comes to allocating work. Inability to monitor breaks between shifts shouldn't be an issue but probably true if Angard are involved. The only reference to multiple sites I could find was in my original contract from 2014 which doesn't really cover working two sites at the same time.

Section 6 Location and Mobility

6.1 You will be informed of your intial place of work for each Engagement as part of the Engagement Confirmation. However during an Engagement you may be required to work elsewhwere other than at your initial place of employment. You will not be require to work outside the UK in the course of your duties.

I remember when you first asked about working at two sites and at the time I used to be offered work at two sites but the one of the sites closed down. I don't know of anybody working at more than one site anymore but it certainly was the case you could work at multiple sites.
