our office has joined the world of taking breaks before you leave, meaning full-timers sat around until just before ten if there partnered with a p/t even if everything's in the van and ready to go, and we're not being allowed to leave the office before finishing time, weather that's to go home or take overtime out, as a result no one is taking overtime out any more!
on a positive note at least in this revision everybody's finishing time are the same regardless of contracted hours.

I really find amusing the idea of all these "gentlemen postmen" you have in your office who have been doing overtime but financially they don't need to.
They can just stop doing it because they aren't allowed to take it out with them?
If I do overtime it is because I need the money.
Do people in your office do it for the good of their health or just for the fun of it?

whats wrong with taking a break before leaving the office ? job and knock finished years ago , so now they have to do overtime after there official finish time in stead of doing it with in there contracted hours ( ghost o/t ) nobody isn't doing it anymore ? I cant see a problem . I wish they would do this at all offices .leolion855 wrote:our office has joined the world of taking breaks before you leave, meaning full-timers sat around until just before ten if there partnered with a p/t even if everything's in the van and ready to go, and we're not being allowed to leave the office before finishing time, weather that's to go home or take overtime out, as a result no one is taking overtime out any more!

Given that you are paid to take the break, it isn't that daft.leolion855 wrote:

What other company do you know that would give you a 30 minute paid break on a 5hr day?
Why can't the breaks be scheduled in a different way?

no idea, but ive never had a break in any company ive worked for! it should be scheduled in the middle of a duty ( or at least after 1 when the specials have been done!)

I do overtime mainly to help my manager out because he's a decent bloke. If I can't be bothered or if it was too much hassle I wouldn't bother. Alot are like that in my office, they tried the ot after finish time because of people complaining about it to the area rep. People willing to do ot went down to 1 person in the office. 3 days later we had a huddle and was told the old way of working was backclashcityrocker wrote:I really find amusing the idea of all these "gentlemen postmen" you have in your office who have been doing overtime but financially they don't need to.

That's a good thing, taking breaks and overtime is optional and not compulsory.leolion855 wrote:our office has joined the world of taking breaks before you leave, meaning full-timers sat around until just before ten if there partnered with a p/t even if everything's in the van and ready to go, and we're not being allowed to leave the office before finishing time, weather that's to go home or take overtime out, as a result no one is taking overtime out any more!

We have had this all summer, people have to come back to office to collect anything for OT or SA and wait until 230 before taking it back out. We have been told to work to time by the Dom & Linos, so now I cut off everyday. Can only assume they are fiddling the figures, cos the amount of failures is extremely high.
