It's highly unlikely, if not impossible, to transfer from deliveries to a Mail Centre. MCs are being increasingly mechanised and jobs are being cut.

We're a long way away from it being mechanised, just read through the threads, the packet sorting machines have loads of stuff that they reject and there isn't really enough flats left to justify having any machine to sort thembaldrick wrote:It's highly unlikely, if not impossible, to transfer from deliveries to a Mail Centre. So are they taking on new staff or transfers from DOs at your MC? They weren't at MP as staff were being transferred from closing London MCs and evr/vrs offered every year.

Nope, they just use more casuals/agency. On the shift that I'm on if you ignore anyone transferring in from another shift or office then it's probably around 10 years since we last had anyone new (new to RM)baldrick wrote:So are they taking on new staff or transfers from DOs at your MC? Well that's what I meant. There are transfers if an office, MC or DO, closes. But it's highly unlikely that the OP would be able to transfer into an MC, unless her DO was to be closed.

Even if a DO was being closed and some staff moved to the MC I think chances are they'd have to go down to part time hoursbaldrick wrote:But it's highly unlikely that the OP would be able to transfer into an MC, unless her DO was to be closed.
