Cut off's ?
I'm wondering where I would stand in this situation.
If I approach my manager and inform him that I cannot complete the delivery in my time and he then informs me that as he has nobody to cover my delivery so I would have to stream, would I be within my rights to bring mail back to the office if I was still not going to be completed for my time?
I've lost count of the times I've asked to finish on my time, but still taken out too much as it can be quite difficult to judge especially given that I'm not on the same duty 2 days in a row (rotation).
My rep is on holiday, but I've spoken to a colleague who is a former rep and he told me that anything I take out I am agreeing to deliver. Is he correct?

You can slow down delivering but, don't speed up.

Cutting Off
I agree with Broxi51 and take too little out so that I know I will definitely complete, and if I finish early I come back and prep D2D's for the next day up until my time.

NO your manager cannot make you work over your time so if you get to your finish time and you`ve got work left take it back they cannot do asteve1873 wrote:I'm wondering where I would stand in this situation.

Re: Cut off's ?
my understanding is that you must either tell the DUM before you leave office or phone office when out on delivery if you bring it back without telling them you might be done under wilful delay matesean38 wrote:NO your manager cannot make you work over your time so if you get to your finish time and you`ve got work left take it back they cannot do asteve1873 wrote:I'm wondering where I would stand in this situation.

if you stream the mail then you still think you ll be over your time you need to go and inform them if they tell you that you should be able to manage that then you tell them that if you cant you will call in about 40 mins before and warn them that you are returning with mail rember you will need to stop delivering and allow enough time to return with the mail so that you are finnished on time i think

after the strikes after on the monday ther was that much mail that i was sorting till 12pm so i thought right thats enough im culling my walk, tell DOM what im doing he informs me theres no1 to do etc etc. Said that wasnt my problem. Next thing i notice is myDUM bundling some off it up to take out, started pissing myself. Then i imformed him i aint going over my time atall and toold him what i don't do is gettin brought back! so ended up cutting off and bringing some back. all in a good days work.
