If this thread goes the way of most exchanges with Corbyn supporters the next step will be that "you're a Sun/Mail reader" and an ITV watcher, and therefore devoid of anything approaching the "truth" regarding Corbyn or his policies.
Apparently today he's saying he's going to magic up 400,000 "green "jobs and greatly extend wind and solar farms if elected. Fantasist.
May's going to be talking some tripe next week but she'll be hard-pressed to out-idiot Corbyn etc.

I realise why you may not like Corbyn and view him as the anti Christ. That’s the power of propaganda as much as the influence he has over his supporters. He believed it was better to have dialogue with the factions you mention rather than confrontation, these people had many valid points to express, the pity was it bred violence. He never supported violence, ever. Governments policy were responsible and still are responsible for many innocents deaths.NWpostie wrote:The problem is. It is on public record Corbyn has been associated with the IRA and PLO, allowing anti semitism to thrive under his watch and for momentum to intimidate and threaten anyone who opposes him and his views. Economic policies that's not quite feasible. Brexit policy that would leave us tied to Europe on very bad terms against the wishes of the electorate who you assume to too thick to "make the right choice"
And now this anti catholic joke, it may be a joke it does not help in the current climate of anti semitism, intimidation etc.
But of course like any religious cult, Saint Corbyn can't do no wrong, his word nirvana to your ears. All hail the most holy Saint Corbyn, its almost parodying "The life of Brian"
And this silly thought that anyone who dont agree is a heretic and closet Tory/BNP/EDL supporter, indicates your closed minds and unwillingness to tolerate opposing views preferring to suppress or close it down.
If you believe all governing bodies are squeaky clean and above board you are sadly mistaken.
His view on a fairer society is more in line with my socialist views. Old fashioned throw back politics in thus modern time BUT too many fat cats are bleeding the country dry at the moment and need to be challenged.
He is not a saint in my eyes, the Labour Party have forgotten it’s roots and the working classes have suffered most.
The banking crisis for example, who is paying the price ? Not the fat cats.!
I do not have issues with your views or opinions, at least you have an interest. Until the general public take an interest and vote, it will never change.
Oh by the way ! Should I leave the CWU because I don’t like Dave Ward ? The party policy is more important than the man !!

Is that any different to suggesting that Corbyn supporters are a religious cult?NWpostie wrote:The problem is. People are individuals, they come to their political decisions through different paths, whether they are to the right or the left they are individuals first and foremost. To think its right to equate the left to a religious cult is as wrong-headed as suggesting those on the right are all adherents of Tommy Robinson or the EDL. Yet some on both sides of the debate still like putting people in boxes and can't see the irony when they do the same.

You are right, we are all individuals who make decisions based on personal views and situations.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Is that any different to suggesting that Corbyn supporters are a religious cult?NWpostie wrote:The problem is. Millionaires have a much different political view to any unemployed, basic wage earners or zero hour contract person.
I am a trade unionist and socialist who will always stand up for the under privileged, victimised and down trodden in society. A fair society is my wish. Unfortunately we now live in a world where greed drives the consensus.
The rich have no interest in the poor, shareholders control the destiny of us all and it’s only political decisions that can influence that. We now live in an ever widening gulf in rich and impoverished. The/our youngsters future is dependant on changing, that situation has to change or ? .? Armageddon awaits.

Would I be out of order asking WHO you would actually vote for ?
Secondly on the Brexit policy, you accuse me of assuming the electorate are too thick " to make the right choice "
There is element of proof in that assumption. Are you going to try and tell me YOU knew the consequences of leaving the EU ? If you claim you did,you are more deluded than I first though.
The best economic brains in the country and abroad are split on the benefits of leaving the EU. Who do we believe ?
The general populace were told lies and fantasies on the lead up to the vote, e.g. £350 mil to the NHS.
No one, not even you, know what brexit will mean. So, you say I assumed the electorate are too thick ! Misled would be my answer. We are all of varied ability to make important decisions, and there are many many many, people out there who are/were unable to arrive at a reasoned decision. Dare I say brainwashed ? Blamed all immigrants for being unable to get a job or a house ? So, the referendum was a mistake IMO, we elect politicians who are supposed to understand the real effect of how complex trading agreements work along with a barrow load of clever educated advisors to keep our country right.
The likes of YOU and ME and many other illiterates do not have the faintest idea of the impact leaving the EU.
Sorry if you and the electorate find that offensive,I am only trying to be honest.

It's not The left" who are cult members, but the Corbyn zealots.
Corbyn represents his version of "the Left" but it isn't the only version, thankfully.
Frank Field, Dennis Skinner, Margaret Hodge etc are of the Left but are no more Corbynistas than Boris Johnson is.
It's alarming or funny (depending on your point of view) that every Corbyn critic or criticism is met with the same basic "read and retort" replies.
1) But I'm a socialist and you're not,
2) You read comics like the Mail, Telegraph etc while I read quality papers for real insight,
3) Cries of ant-Semitism etc are the Tory media/Blairite scum making mountains out of molehills,
4) and best of all "I just want a fairer society and you criticising the JC must mean you want the same old Tory hierarchy etc etc"
Standard non-thinking answers to any debate involving Corbyn. Similar robotic replies are beloved of followers of Hitler to Stalin, James Jones to Ron L Hubbard. The true cult of Corbyn.

Personally I think momentum will slowly and carefully withdraw its support for Corbyn, movements like momentum as they try to become more mainstream which they need to do to continue to grow soon realise that there's only so far you can go with a one trick pony. Although I think the antisemitism issue has been blown out of all proportion the leadership's lack of any coherent way of dealing with it means it has stuck and will stick to Corbyn permanently now no matter what he does.
Labour's lack of inroads into the "undecided" middle ground voters will be starting to worry them, it really should. This is the most shambolic Tory party I've seen in my lifetime and by rights the Labour party should have a 20+ point lead in the polls right now. If it is momentum that takes the Labour party forward they need to have a radical structure shake up, cut their ties with a dead man walking and reach out to all Labour supporters and MPs to attempt to build a broad church Labour party that listens to and includes all views and opinions equally.
To go back to the original article, the joke was poor, what it says about the guy who made it speaks for itself. It doesn't necessarily make him a bigot but it does call into question his ability to think before he speaks and I'm not sure people who have that problem should be allowed to speak for others especially me.

Andy Kerr obviously has a deep rooted chip on his shoulder about the action taken by the delegate, it’s sad that his own view of a person crossing themselves could even provoke comment. The person may not have been catholic either !
To assume the position of chairing any debate forum he should realise it’s an impartial role and stick to controlling the flow of debate or points of order. He was out of order and correctly reprimanded.
