All hours worked I worked with a guy who spent most of the day talking to the customers he then expected me to help him in his loops no chance I need to sort the whole problem out .I don’t see why they don’t bring the bikes back clearly having all these fans is an environmental issue in itself? The Postman wrote:The official stance on it is that you should be helping him finish the loops. There isn't anything in any agreement that says you can stand about waiting for your partner because you think he is too slow.
The DOM doesn't need to sort him/her out.
If you are continually finishing before your partner then maybe your loops need to be made a bit bigger and his/hers a little smaller.
Thank God I have never had to work with a "partner" like you.

The whole “work your paid hours” quote is open to so many interpretations. Is it “be” in work all your paid hours, no coming in early, finishing early. If you are “in” work your are “working” it doesn’t state that you have to do somebody elses work just because you’re quicker than them.

YesAgree why would anybody help Their partner who is clearly a lot slower than them I actually ask my dorm who agree it’s on fair to keep helping your partner out and as we all pay the same money why should I help my partner out those were his words not mine So I can see the problem I don’t know why people are expecting ito keep helping his partner who is clearly struggling all the time on the same moneynumber one wrote:The whole “work your paid hours” quote is open to so many interpretations. Yes help each other out is fine but when it’s all one-sided it does seem unfair I can understand why this guys coming from There was a guy at our place he used to drive off and he always fdid blocks of flats early whilst you did your first loop he then wouldn’t help you on any of his loops waiting 1015 minutes in the van I explain this to the dorm and nothing was done about itDB1100 wrote:Blimey, for once I agree with you, help each other out ffsclashcityrocker wrote:It actually has been addressed by the union in the part of the agreement that talks about working all your paid hours.matthew68 wrote: Really! so you would happily help your partner on every loop on every day with you for nearly 1 year and actually get paid less money as he is a full-time you really think that’s fair to you?Janet Brum wrote:Well said. Simple. Just slow down. It should be 50/50 but Everybody’s work rate is different so it will rarely be. Work to your time and bring it back. Not your fault mate.

Not sure why you think it’s sad I know where this guy is coming from it’s alright helping a little bit but some people are quite deliberately go slow he’s probably frustrated at the constant having to help or wait in his loops is a frustrating job sometimes Especially if you have to finish at a certain time some people are happy to work on others can’t do itI suggest talk to the dorm to see if we can move you if not just keep cutting off at following procedure and explain you are always waiting for your partner I don’t believe they can force you to help himJanet Brum wrote:Well said. If you don't wish to work past your time and the guy you work with does, whats the problem?? Just let the guy you work with take the loops and work past their time whilst you finish on time. What could be simpler?
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

In our DO when the van sharing walks were set up,only the F/T were consulted and they helped set up the walks,so as you can imagine some of the loops are so far out it's ridiculous as the F/T just picked the driving duties so the part timers if they wanted there own walk had to pick one of these jobs that the full timers had stitched up,so not only has the part timer got to do more walking and delivering than the full timer, the poor sod has to deliver far more D2D's and get less delivery supplement so the problem is a long standing one caused originally by the lazy full timer looking after themselvesmatthew68 wrote:Yes I agree help each other out not just all one sided that’s where the problem isDB1100 wrote:Blimey, for once I agree with you, help each other out ffsclashcityrocker wrote:It actually has been addressed by the union in the part of the agreement that talks about working all your paid hours.matthew68 wrote: Really!
