Application "In progress"

Post by Leeatten »

I got a phone call a couple of weeks ago now to tell me my interview went well and I have got the job I applied for and need to complete some additional information, Work/address history. Since then when I log in my application status is "In progress" but I can still go on and edit the security information. Is this normal? I'm just a little worried these haven't been submitted properly?

I have tried emailing HR but no reply. Hoping I will hear from them this week. I am desperate to get started ASAP!

Same as me also. Been 13 days in progress now.
Although I did receive an email from royal mail on Tuesday regarding DVLA checks on my driving licence so something must be happening.
A few people have said the process can be very slow

A bit on inside knowledge here. Royal Mails recruitment process is glacial at the best of times, but around late August to the Middle of October it really slows down as they start Christmas Casual recruitment. At Christmas they usually hire between 18,000 and 22,000 extra staff, all of them have to be checked and processed. I am afraid patience is a requirement both in the job and in the recruitment process. Hang in there I am sure you'll all hear something at some point.

Application "In progress"

Hi there, I’m in exactly the same boat as you all. I’m currently at day 13 after receiving the email confirming I passed the interview stage and for me to fill in my work/address history. The email said the checks would take up to 14 days. My application online still says “In Progress”. I’ve had no email regarding my dvla code though.

Do RM only do the checks once they have asked you for your dvla code? I’m confused as to what’s actually going on. I assumed that I would hear back within these 2 weeks if the checks had been successful or not but it seems some people’s have taken another 2 weeks after getting the dvla code email?! Any help or advice would be appreciated, thanks!

The 14 day rule never works or rarely. Took 28 days and a couple of phone calls to the DO I was going to for the process to be completed.

Thanks for your reply Chris.

I think my confusion is coming from the fact that when RM email you after you have passed the interview, they say security checks will take 14 days then you find out your start date, however, people seem to be contacted after this time asking for a dvla code and are told the checks take a further 14 days to clear after that. This whole process is ridiculous!

Can't say in this case I went for my local office for the interview but was put on the waiting list, but another job came up at another office. A good clue your getting close is when your copy of your DBS check comes to your home.
