Start time and finish time. If you don't want to work past it, don't. If you work at correct speed using correct methods, where's the problem. They have means to tell where you are all the time now, use it in YOUR favour.

thats easy to say and not everyone will do it . getting people out today was sign everyone had enough of them taking the piss, better now in sept than in a few months time

maybe if you knew that if getting out after 10 and bringing stuff back it will be taken out by someone else like it used to be and not put back in frame next day making more heavy work.

Same old, same old, always the same after a pay rise, there way of getting there money back, it's one big fiddle , better off sticking the pay rise and shorter working week for just better working conditions inside office and out, 5hr deliveries with no toilets, wet through or cooking , was way better with 2 deliveries ,

Put it back in frame as many days as they like. Like I said, if you don't want to overun, don't. Apply correct procedure. If you're doing your job correct, there's no comeback, in actual fact it'll make your job lighter coz you're only gonna have time to deliver say, 3/4 of your round and so do less walking. It's a management problem NOT yours. Remember that.

Bloody hell, your office sounds like a total disaster. Making 14 up to full time?! What the hell has happened to all your staff? There's been 4 or 5 made up to full time in our office in the over 3 years I've been here to put that into perspective. I moan about my office as most do, it's okay compared to some though by the sounds of it.

must have been at least 6 d/o staff walk out all due to management bullying tactics the past month or so, our dom could scrap all summer holidays and we'd not say anything we're that weak
yes we all say work to your time, but i see quite a few newer to the business who feel they must work over even though they don't want to.
i feel the heads at the CWU have missed a trick by not involving the whole membership rather than post individual photos of walkouts and celebrating like they've done some good.
they would get more public support acting now rather than late november and then get the old "xmas is coming and the greedy posties are at it again" painting us in a bad picture

its our cwu who created this by splitting up its own membership into local dispute resolutions
they dont want to upset rm with large walkouts
their view is contain disgruntled offices make false promises it will be sorted (were still waiting on said promises } move on deal with another local office and so it continues
under NO circumstances will they let members take action together

I've heard from a good source in the midlands branch that an office had a gate meeting yesterday, emptied the office & close to a walk out also.
Winter of discontent is on its way :cuppa

Work to Rule is the answer ..... not walking out on the gate. Go out , do what you can in given hours and bring back the rest of it .....

Not only is that not the answer, it isn't even a work to rule.

All Royal Mail do in that situation is stop all the overtime in the office and starve the part-time staff. You might not care about people trying to live off 20 hours but luckily most of us do.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Ok work to rule many not suit some offices . Start on time , go out, do what you can and bring back undelivered mail. What kind of action management could take against delivery staff ? I can not say about my DO because most of lads are making over 2 hours every day. :Very Happy

P/T workers are only P/T because we are not working to rule if we work to rule they will be put 25/30 hour contracts. The bullying of P/T staff is outrageous our reps need to be talking to managers about the non payment of overtime and the non taking of breaks that most of them are forced not to take. The R/M is run on overtime if we all stopped doing it the company would be in deep ####.

In my honest opinion, a work to rule never works in Royal Mail.

Once we are out on delivery we effectively work alone, just meeting for a few minutes every so often to get the next loop.

How do bosses undermine a work to rule. Simple they isolate and target the people they perceive as the weakest and who they have a chance of pressurising them to either break the work to rule or do something that they can be suspended for. The isolation parts have already been done for them so they are half way there.
