That could well be a massive load of hours that higher up look to take out of your DO during the next summernumber one wrote:It’s been so easy in my office this summer, I start on time, take my full break, do my lapsing and still finish at 11:00 most days. Gives me plenty of time to do my overtime and I’m still home for 12:30-13:00

At some point RM are going act on all the new data they are collating. It won't just be about the two summer months - they will be looking to cut whole walks permanently and where possible closing down & amalgamating DOs. Hound your DOM to get a holster for your PDA. A PDA on full charge will usually last a whole walk. Keep the PDA on and take it to every doorstep. It may be a bit of an inconvenience but it will increase what RM have down on their system as regards how long your walk is. We have to fight back because we are in the right and a lot of our walks are too long now.SpacePhoenix wrote:That could well be a massive load of hours that higher up look to take out of your DO during the next summernumber one wrote:It’s been so easy in my office this summer, I start on time, take my full break, do my lapsing and still finish at 11:00 most days. I find it very hard to believe you finish right on your time, you will be either finish early or late. Nobody ever finishes “right on their time”. So if you finish 10 mins early should you be docked wages?scoobydo79 wrote:Never.I finish on My time or late and book itnumber one wrote:Why would you hope that? You don't though, do you. It's impossible to judge if that closely everytime. You never finish early because if you're early you sandbag it like every one of us does nowadays in offices where job and knock has gone. Don't get me wrong, it's fair enough and it's what anybody with any sense nowadays should do but it's not 'finishing on time' or 'doing the job properly'.scoobydo79 wrote:Never.I finish on My time or late and book itnumber one wrote:Why would you hope that? They're bound to start questioning anyone they feel is "sandbagging" once they start analysing the PDA actuals datapostietom wrote:You don't though, do you. Now that summer is over - has mail volume returned?
Or remained quite slow?
Any evidence of an impact from GDPR?

In my DO the walking routes normally get finished around 12 but that's before any lapsing, now the rural routes that a completely different kettle of fish, all the rural routes are way to big to finish on time and most are doing 1 - 2 hours overtime a day, everyday.

I always dread September and the usual deluge of mail after most people are back from their summer holidays. It doesn't seem so busy so far but we are only a few days in. I'm starting to worry slightly that maybe GDPR has had an effect. I think the D2Ds are going to recover from next week though - they are starting to arrive and stacking up.RMG4Life wrote:Now that summer is over - has mail volume returned?

Mail volumes (at least mech) seem to be not too far off normal levels, just that it arrives later as a result of Network 18 (actually clearing is going to become a very rare event)RMG4Life wrote:Now that summer is over - has mail volume returned?
