Mine was literally two weeks but from other posts it can take several weeks which is frustrating for people waiting. There doesn't seem to be any definite time frame. I think the first check was dvla then dbs etc. I suppose it depends how busy there are, congratulations by he way

Thanks for the tip. Now I hope this is kinda related ..Janet Brum wrote:Is best to email myapplication@royalmail.com to let them know that you applied for another position, supply the link to that job and to remind them that you are a waiting list candidate.
It`s what i did and got the job after 4 applications while I was on the waiting list.
Can anyone on the waiting list confirm if their profile/job status actually says 'waiting list'? Mine says 'unsuccessful' despite being well within the 3 month period

To avoid confusion, I checked my status yesterday for the first time in a long time and I can't remember if maybe the status has always been stated as 'unsuccessful'. Unless others respond saying 'waiting list' is indicated there, maybe it's not cause for concern ..

UPDATE: For no apparent reason ...zoe59 wrote:I’m also on the waiting list and my profile says unsuccessful too
The wording of my current status has switched from 'unsuccessful' to 'waiting list', and my previous 2 applications changed from 'unsuccessful' to 'position withdrawn'. It's not the first time I've noticed format/wording changes on the profile page and have no idea why it does that. On previous experience it seems to switch back-and-forth every-so-often. Not really ideal in terms of minimising confusion!
EDIT!
On the profile page the format/wording changes if you switch between 'English UK' and 'English US' options. The date format change is to be expected, but job application status seems 'preferential' for US English. I'm on 'waiting list' for US English, but 'unsuccessful' for UK English! Equal Opportunities won't be happy ...

Mine still says ‘unsuccessful’ for the original job I went for where I was told I was on the ‘waiting list’ however the latest job I have applied for says ‘testing’ and has done since I applied for it 9 days ago. I have no idea and have heard nothing.
Edit - I have changed the format to US English and mine also says ‘waiting list F/L’ for the original job I applied for and ‘testing in progress’ for the latest one.

WAITING LIST
Hello everyone,
First post on RM Chat, grateful for the amount of info posted by members on here as it has been immensely helpful.
I attended an interview the other week at my local DO for a position as Postman with driving. Unfortunately I received an email stating I was unsuccessful in my application but I had passed the interview and would be placed on the waiting list.
Is there a good chance of getting a job whilst being on the waiting list? Also I have seen many people post about a link to apply from, on the waiting list informative email, which was not included on mine. Is this likely to cause any issues?

Yes, I was on the waiting list, I had an email on the 8th August to say I was unsuccessful for the job but I would be placed on the waiting list. On the 9th another job came up so I applied and sent an email to my application and on the 20th I received an email to say congratulations I’d passed and to fill out my 5 year history. Just keep checking the website twice daily for jobs nearby
I also did not receive an email with a link on to apply directly from so I wouldn’t worry about that.

Hey Zoe,
Thanks for the reply, that’s great news congrats. You have definitely put my mind at rest, I applied for another job straight after the waiting list email at another office, disregarded the tests etc and it still says ‘testing’ underneath it. Is this similar to yourself?

Thank you! I’m just in the security check stages. Yes that’s the exact same as me. I was ‘testing’ from the 9th to the 20th an now it’s changed to ‘in progress’MT9018 wrote:zoe59 wrote:MT9018 wrote:Hello everyone,

WAITING LIST
Great thread, guys!
Just realised if I changed the language to US on my profile I am now on 'Waiting List - FL'. After reading some other threads, I believe the waiting list is an encouraging place to be and I'm over the moon as I previously believed I had been 'unsuccessful' and there was no other option.
One thing to note, I 'passed' my interview earlier this month, but I have had no emails in return to confirm the outcome of the interview itself - Is that common? Anyway, with that in mind I emailed myapplication@royalmail.com, but haven't had a reply, as of yet.
Lastly, I have seen a few other jobs come up near me and have applied as normal (sitting both online tests again).
Does anyone have any advice on how I could/should proceed? Should I be emailing 'myapplication@royalmail.com', when I apply for a new position being on the waiting list?
Wish you all well :)

I didn’t have any emails either regarding feedback from interview I just received the standard one to say I’d be unsuccessful but did pass the interview and would be placed on the 3 month waiting list.Sammich wrote:Great thread, guys!

Weird.. I've not received any email confirmations either way (successful or unsuccessful), and I've also kept on sitting the online tests.. I must have done them a dozen times
I'll keep plugging on - Thanks again :)
