Part of the break can be taken at the end of the duty.Postie45 wrote: breaks arent supposed to be taken at end of duty, just take your full break when you want
You can't take your break when you want.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I'm afraid that's not true except, apparently, on Saturdaysclashcityrocker wrote: Part of the break can be taken at the end of the duty.
That is correct, although your manager may allow you discretion. But regardless your contractual breaks must be taken towards the middle of the working day.You can't take your break when you want.

The working time directive states a worker must have a 20 minute break if working more than a 6 hour day.DGH wrote:I'm afraid that's not true except, apparently, on Saturdaysclashcityrocker wrote: Part of the break can be taken at the end of the duty.
We have a 40 minute break on a 7h+ day.
Consequently the 20 minute statutory break cannot be taken at the beginning or the end of the duty.
The other 20 minutes is down to local agreement and can be taken at the end as is clearly stipulated in the Way Forward Agreement.
I have absolutely no idea where you have got this "Saturday exception" from.
It is nonsense.

take it up with union, our office and i hope plenty of others return to do to take our breaks , not gonna sit in a van in the snow and take a pee in a bush somewhere then be done with flashing or something else and get the sack.
if it takes 10 mins to return to do then its 10 minutes of there time not yours. 10 mins to return to delivery point after break is also on there heads

What a job this is, eh? Yet another question and yet another cascade of differing answers. Same at the DO- different responses from posties, managers and reps. You could even then ask the Courier and get a totally different perspective.
No wonder everyone then just takes all the different answers and moulds them into one that suits them as best as possible.
