20 minute meal relief. When do you have to take it?

worktotime wrote:down to the new pda actuals your official going out time is with half your meal relief before leaving , so take 20 mins when you've loaded the van before leaving , and take 20 mins halfway round , simple , and remember if you work 9 hours or more you are entitled to claim 10 mins extra break , so claim that as well . :thumbup
Good sensible advice.

In the new PDA booklet for union and managers says PDAs ping and go live when you leave the office and they have already taken 20 minutes off for tea break ...
So a would say 20 minutes from now on and the way forward for everyone ..

Plus I'm sure I've read some where in the way forward agreement managers should enforce tea breaks.

So PDA actuals get correct data etc

this is because every office has different duty structures and start times.
In essence the full break should be taken in middle of the day somewhere and not at start or end of shift. The fact that youre allowed to split the break into 2 20 minutes and have one of these at the end of the shift should be seen as nothing but an "optional perk" and only done if youre happy to do it.
