Hi guys and girls

Due to the fact that this site basically consumes your life I am going to move into semi retirement.

By this i mean i will continue to post any info i get and please feel free to PM me anytime. I just won't be able to get into the debates as much. Mrs Lovejoy and Daughter Lovejoy have said i'm needed!!!!

I thought i'd do one last personal opinion post for all the No voters. Nah only joking.

I will just say that whatever way we all vote its about how we move forward after that is most important.

If its a YES then be prepared for further action in the near future because this vicious employer is not going away.

If its a NO then we all really need to take stock.

I believe pesonally that in the event of a no vote then it really is s**t or bust for us all. As members we will need to decide what we want from our union. We face an employer backed by the Government and i believe the only way to challenge that is an ALL OUT STRIKE.

This may frighten ay of you but its a lot less scary than no job at all in the future. The political and industrial pressure of an all out strike would be massive and as long as we held firm we could beat them once and for all.

I guess the decison is do we take our gains now and live to fight another day or do we stand and fight now knowing that this fight will be the biggest industrial battle since the miners dispute.

Whatever happens though we must not lose sight of where we have come from.

We were all told the union is finished and will never get a YES vote for strike action. We returned a 77% yes vote and for the first ever time every branch got a YES

Then we were told 'people will never strike' - We have 4 solid one day strikes that rocked Royal Mail but didn't move them enough.

Then came the call for 2 bouts of 48hr strikes. Admittedly even reps were worried about this but remarkably the action simply grew stronger and eventually brought us to where we are now.

we all have any opinion on the agreement but what cannot be denied is we should all be proud of ourselves.

Those smutty pair of idiots thought they have us under control. Leighton has been on the run ever since the start of strike action (it took him 5 years to realise he isn't at ASDA anymore) and Crozier was left to look like a mug as he attacked agreement that he signed (DSA) as the reason for our troubles.

As well as this we have given all workers hope. Other now look to us and say if they can do it why can't we.

We'll all get our slips from this weekend and remember that in itself is an achievement. Royal Mail wanted to force their plans on us and we changed all that.

The vote will go where it goes and if needed i'll be on the line again.

Couldn't agree more , there was the information which people didn't get from the CWU , RM no doubt wouldn't have liked it full stop . People will have to learn to agree to disagree more . Anal & Saddam & their Senior Managers as Thatcherite Dinosaurs from the 80's wishing to turn the clock back 80 years would have loved to have provoked the CWU into all out .

Thanks Lovejoy for giving us valuable info and keeping us informed. The union and those that run their excuse for a website could learn a lot from you. However I don`t hold out much hope. All the best.

I for one will miss lovejoy a great deal. I am mostly a watcher rather than a participator and it was through lovejoy that I got the most reliable information. So it is I hope just a sabbitcal rather than a full on retirement.
