Quite often I get back and some of the brown noses are in the office sniffing away

You see this is the problem with some offices. In my office it’s us and them (managers vs Posties) however we still talk to the managers and nobody is called a “brown nose” or any other name for doing so. The old saying keep your friends close and enemies closer comes to mind.Pathfinder wrote:Quite often I get back and some of the brown noses are in the office sniffing away![]()

True about the saying. Our office seems more us (part timers) vs FTers and Managers. If we get spoken to it’s because we know what’s coming next (they want extra work doing) all of a sudden they’ll be your buddy asking how the family at etc it’s so false. Next day you’ll get ignored (My preference)

no, he's either too busy on the phone trying to get cover or out delivering the leftover lapsing. Rarely see him.

Even an indecent one is worth talking to sometimes, its called gathering intelligence, and they always want to look important.aiden01 wrote:Whats the problem with talking to a decent manager btw.arnold cheshire wrote:Top blokeworktotime wrote:NO, simple .

Then find another job that can accommodate you.arnold cheshire wrote:Not an understanding decent bloke or lady in the business
You are wrong to tar all managers with the same brush as I have experienced very good managers who are very understanding and have good management skills who have even overridden instructions from a higher level of manager and chat on other things apart from RM. There is a life outside of RM.
On the other hand have experienced managers who in different situations haven't a clue when to apply common sense and are programmed in their training of managing the RM way and to this catagory of manager I confine my chat to operational requirements only.

I'm civil and professional , if he says morning I'll say morning back its just good manners. Not as if he's going to invite me round for Sunday lunch.

Hardly ever see ours, but would not chat generally as they don't seem to want to, because they want us out the door asap. I have not even had a single WTL session with any boss in about 9 months to a year.
