400 Driving allowance

Post by Jamie162 »

Couple of lads in the office have been receiving 400 pay for the last couple of years but got a message in there pay slip last week saying they aren’t entitled to it and owe Royal Mail thousands of pounds. Any advise or a copy of any agreement would be nice feel really bad for these lads

It's up to RM to pay the correct salary. Union should be all over it. If they never signed for it, apart from docket then there is a good chance that they won't have to pay it back. Union legal line is a good place to start.

It's up to you to notify of any mistakes to your pay too. How many times did you query missing docket in your time? These lads have been taking money they're not entitled to. They got caught. Had they fessed up before they'd not have been overpaid so much for so long. Save sympathy for those deserving it.

Never had missing docket. Yes I do have sympathy for them because these days RM screw YOUS for everything and load posties like donkeys in third world countries. So if some none resident, none taxpayer can claim hundreds of thousands of pounds for a few hours work then what's a few quid driving allowance which they actually still might be entitled to it there before 2000.
