If you prefer to have your parcel left unattended on your premises, select one of the safe places from the list. Ensure that the safe place you choose is protected from the elements and is guarded from public view to avoid damage and theft.

Aye well Amazon might not be bothered about a few packages going astray because they dispatch millions everyday. The only one that is going to get it in the neck when a parcel goes missing is you. Whats to stop the customer from taking the package that you left and then claim that they never received it?

If you are a driver in my office please come and tell me, I'd want to avoid any duty you are on.

If you are not a driver, you have no responsibility for the check, but it would help the driver.

The real truth is not just a lack of training or cannot be bothered but TIME time to have a meal relief and do the checks and not go over your time some offices lapse as well at the detriment so safety is chucked out the window in the needs of a bonus criteria but you all sign that piece of paper in the WTL at the end of the day it is YOU who will pay the price of your own expediency while those that cannot do a proper management job will be able to continue to be piss poor managers with inflated pensions!

DPD have an online option to leave the parcel in a safe place, used it today, you have to ticket a box saying DPD are not responsible for it and can leave instructions about where you want it, brilliant system and takes blame out of the equation.

With the new safe place system in addition to the GPS system in the PDA there is also the photo of the safe place. The recipient has given the location of the safe place so they would not be able to complain or claim compensation. Unfortunately most other items coming through our business are open to having automatic compensation payouts if a recipient claims they have not received the item.

Amazon don't pay our wages, nor will they care when we get sacked.

As the sensible ones have pointed out, P739 is the only way.
Amazon are probably Royal Mail biggest customer so in effect they do pay our wages. You sound like a dinosaur & need to embrace the new technology. I am sensible been doing job 20 years & never had a complaint a parcel gone missing in a safe place.

Amazon probably used to be one of our biggest customers, until they started using UK Express (which takes advantages of the gig economy) and their own self-employed drivers to deliver their own parcels. I would suggest they are first and foremost our competitors, using us only where they can't deliver parcels, and I certainly wouldn't want an embrace to the new technology that they have made.
