13th is not an offical holiday. when we use to get 13th off it was taken off your annual leave.as for other bank holidays why would we lose them if st pat's day falls on a saturday we have to work it as bh get's move to monday.
It's still historically a non service day and i was happy to loose a days leave, to take it away at such short notice was unacceptable, people had plans already made but that didn't seem to matter...three CWU reps decided in their wisdom to sign a document without even consulting a lot of the staff affected, please correct me if i am wrong but do the CWU not work on our behalf and therefor should consult us before decisions are made?

I totally agree with you especially at short notice but why should mc staff have to work it while delivery get day off im sure you know the reps aswell as i do. so if there is sufficent support among staff you will know who to vote for next time they are up for selection.

As i work in mc would'nt know. if you work in delivery an worked 13th surely you would know.

Calendars usually show all the bank holidays and days off. My calendar has July 12th marked down as Orangemens Day. Is this the holiday you were talking about?

The op has put a screen shot up in original post ,of the day he’s talking about and the title clearly say 13th of July
