Mei Li has walked from Dundee to St Andrews in memory of her brother Jeff, who died from a rare form of bone cancer.
A woman has completed a gruelling charity walk in memory of her brother, who died from a rare form of bone cancer.
Mei Li, 32, set off yesterday with 15 friends to walk from Dundee to St Andrews, to raise money for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
The 11-hour, 24-mile hike started out from Birkhill cemetery, where Mei’s older brother Jeff is buried, ending in the town where she and her brother grew up.
On their way, the group passed through Tayport, and stopped for a barbecue in Tenstmuir, before moving on to Leuchars and Guardbridge, finishing at the New Inn in St Mary Street, St Andrews.
Mei’s efforts have so far raised an estimated £2,500 for the charity.
Mei, a mum-of-two from Coldside, said: “Everybody’s been really supportive.
“People have been very generous with their donations, even strangers.
“So many people have helped me as well – Heidi Orr from the New Inn, Claire Trimble at the Guardbridge Inn and my friend Sarah Wilson’s husband Kevin, who put on the barbecue for us at Tentsmuir. It’s been a lot of fun.

Jeff, of the Dens Road area, died in 2017 aged 33. He had woken up one day with pain in his left hip, which doctors initially thought was nerve damage.
But after having scans, Jeff, who worked at The Pearl Chinese takeaway on Clepington Road before becoming a postman, was told he had giant cell sarcoma of the left proximal femur. The tumour spread and he died last year. Since his death Mei has raised money and increased awareness of the disease.
