Residents say crash was linked to confrontation between groups of men

Police are investigating the circumstances of a car crash in Leicester last night.

Officers found the badly damaged vehicle in Osmaston Road, off Evington Road, Leicester but the driver was not at the scene.

Some residents say the crash was linked to a confrontation between two groups of men.

However, a Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said the force was not aware of any disorder of of anyone being injured.

The force has urged witnesses to come forward.

The spokeswoman said: “Officers attended a report of a road traffic collision at 11.40pm.

“When officers arrived at the scene the occupants of the car had left.

“No injuries have been reported and no other vehicles were involved.

“Inquiries are continuing.”
