Waiting List Advice
Hi all.
Have now been on the waiting list for nearly 2 months, have applied for an additional post using the waiting list "link email" but have heard nothing.
Is it best just to wait for Royal Mail to contact me or would you advise me to contact them and if so by what means.
Many thanks.

My suggestion is to wait.
The process is slow all year, but especially so now because they are recruiting 20,000 casuals for Christmas.

Does the waiting list guarantee you a job within the three months?

No, it doesn`t guarantee you a job.
You should apply to more than one job through that link, the more the better.
It`s what I did, perseverence is the key.

They are busy recruiting 20000 casuals for Christmas, that tends to slow it down a fair bit. Keep chipping away.Howitzer88 wrote:Janet Brum wrote:No, it doesn`t guarantee you a job.

I too am in the same situation as you.
I am on the wating list after receiving the "On this occasion we are unable to offer you the position you applied for as there were other higher scoring candidates" email.
I also have less than 1 month of the 3 month period left and have applied twice for jobs in my area, but have heard nothing.
The thing that confuses me is the branch that I am applying for (Lincoln) seem to always be taking on casual agency workers and paying through the nose for this !!!
I am here, willing, able and ft to work ,,,, give me a chance / opportunity please?

I was on the waiting list for a month before I got offered the job I applied for at £9.51 an hour, 30 hours per week.
Was there a recent increase to £9.99 an hour as all the postman jobs on job search seem to start at £9.99?

Yes a pay rise has recently come into effect which is why you are now seeing the new rate.Gavin91 wrote:I was on the waiting list for a month before I got offered the job I applied for at £9.51 an hour, 30 hours per week.
